The left hoof, which needs to completely regrow if the colt is to have any shot of walking, remains the biggest concern. We have artificial fingernails for people, why not artificial hooves for horses?

This is really good news -- it looked so dire for a while, especially when he had his bout with laminitis.

He's lighter than I keep mine, certainly, but it's good for him to be light right now, when his structure is being tested to support weight at all. I wouldn't be in a hurry to put weight on him.
