Why have we chosen The Jihadist as the title for this column? We need to reclaim the meaning of true Jihad from those who have misused and abused this significant Islamic injunction. What is Jihad? Each language has unique words which cant be translated precisely. Respected Muslim scholar Dr. Abdulaziz Sachedina defines Jihad as a sincere and noticeable effort (for good); an all true and unselfish striving for spiritual good.
Jihad as presented in the Quran and any of the other scriptures implies the striving of spiritual good. This Jihad particularly involves change in ones self and mentality.

Just more lying to the infidels. Screw Islam.
Dr. Abdulaziz Sachedina, you need to clean out your Militant Imams, Clerics, etc. who are clearly misusing religion to get the young to fight for them. I as a non Muslim resent being called an Infidel by anyone

Jihad the "inner struggle."
Thanks for the lesson in Arabic.
I added the "infidel" in the title.
Also, there is again the Muslim semantics game: "To Islam (Submission), war is unholy, Jihad must mean anything but holy war. When people use the term "holy war" they mean Muslims waging war on non-muslims, in the name of Islam. It doesn't matter what academics say - this is a "Holy War."
When in the whole history of Islam, including during the lifetime of the "Profit," did any Muslims actually practice this alleged method of "jihad"?
This is just more taqqiya kitman BS.
Lets bring back the crusades, and not let those who have misused and abused its meaning misrepresent our cause;)
Oh. Pardon me. Dang, I am foolish. Here I thought Jihad meant cutting off heads, mass murder of innocent civilians, using babies as shields during warfare, blowing US or Israeli cities to smithereens with nuclear weapons, etc, etc. and etc.... How could I have got it so wrong?

A nice synopsis of the site is the article "Why I left Islam."

Islam is a violent religion, even though not all the practitioners are violent themselves.
