In early May of this year, our dear friend Flyer was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lung cancer. The doc’s told him the tumor was not curable, but treatable. His understanding of the lung cancer was that it was minor (if there is such a thing).
Several weeks ago Flyer finished radiation. Tuesday was his first chemo treatment. Friday he was feeling bad, but did not want to go to the hospital. His brother finally called an ambulance Saturday morning to take him to the ER.
A few minutes ago Eaker, myself and Roger (Flyer’s brother) returned from the hospital. The news is not good.
The lung cancer has spread rapidly. Flyer only has use of one lung. He is on constant oxygen, and his breathing is still labored. Because of the cancer and tumor his immune system cannot keep up, now he has a major infection in his left leg. They are giving him antibiotics thru an IV
The doctors told the three of us that Flyer does not want any heroic measured taken. Right now his care instructions are to keep him hydrated and comfortable.
For those wondering why a prayer thread was not started earlier, it is because Flyer did not want one ~ several friends asked if they could start one, and he said ‘no there are others who need prayers more that I’.
It truly breaks my heart to type the following words, our good friend and a wonderful man will soon die. I am asking you to please pray for Flyer’s comfort.

When Jim left us...I remember sitting with Roger afterwards, Eaker took a call and stepped outside the room...Roger just seemed to still be in shock, and we talked for a short while about "stuff"...
I don't remember too much about what we talked about, but I tried to be as upbeat and supportive to Roger as I could...I just don't think his heart was in it, and that was understandable...
Brothers forever...Makes me think I need to reforge some family ties...

I'm sorry for Flyer's familty. More prayers for them! BTW, I do plan to attend the Flyer memorial and PETA-fest (People Eating Tasty Animals) this weekend.
Right now, just prayers.
I have ask them to let us know if there is anything they need, we will be there for them.
I wonder if it's possible for us to attend services...? Rocky and I are leaving work early on Friday. I'm just sick about this, I was so looking forward to meeting Roger.

That's one hell of an understatement. I really feel sorrow for his family right now.
I was saddened to read about Flyer.
May he find himself in the loving arms of our Saviour.
May God be with his family.

Flyer is staying at our house & will be attending the party.
