HOLLYWOOD INTERVIEW...KAREN COVELL: The Hollywood Prayer Network started in July of 2001. We now have over 5,000 members, representing over 10,000 praying units across the world. We have chapters in the United States, Canada, Thailand and Italy.

I would like to see God’s presence so visible and tangible in Hollywood that it would lead to a revival! And a revival in Hollywood will bring a cultural revival.

MICHAEL WESTFALL: Most Americans have no idea about the demeanor or belief system of today’s movie moguls. Are these studio decision makers different from mainstream America or do they care about our nation’s values and morals?

KAREN COVELL: The majority of the Hollywood decision-makers and cultural influencers (celebrities) are not Christians. However, many of them consider themselves in some way “spiritual.” Many are seeking significance, purpose, meaning and peace, but they are looking in all the wrong places. They think that fame, money, power, meditation, gurus, tarot cards, crystals, alcohol, affairs, drugs, workaholism, etc. will fill them up. Others claim to have no spiritual belief system at all, and then some have created one or are following a certain belief system that doesn’t make them have to change their lifestyle. Many industry professionals are very politically and socially minded, and that often becomes their religion as well. Their Bible is the New York Times. Many give generously to charities such as AIDS relief and they consider themselves good people, moral people and people with values. They don’t want to hurt or mislead the people in America; they want to be good people. They just don’t understand that their worldview is morally destructive. And they get angry when we tell them it is. They do not want to be told what to....

The majority of the Hollywood decision-makers and cultural influencers (celebrities) are not Christians. They don’t want to hurt or mislead the people in America; they want to be good people. They just don’t understand that their worldview is morally destructive. And they get angry when we tell them it is.

This is a crock: "Hollyweirdos don’t understand their worldview is morally destructive. "

Watta load of BS----the Hollyweirdos expect us to believe they exist in a total vacuum----that they have no inkling their actions and the morally decadent and destructive entertainment they put out has no effect on the culture.

Yeah, sure, and Follywood pigs can fly, too.

Let us remember that the entertainment coterie's stock in trade is to micromanage every single solitary, detail in movies, TV, music, and other productions.

It is really far-fetched for these over-achievers to play the "innocent victim" when, in fact, most of the stuff we are exposed to is Hollywarped proselytizing its warped worldview to unsuspecting audiences.

They have calculatedly chipped away at the foundations of Western civilization impelled by a visceral hatred of all things religious.....and now they claim to have no responsibility.

Sorry, Follywood----you don't get off that easy.

A friend of mine who used to pastor a Baptist church once explained, "You never want to hear a preacher stand over the grave of a loved one and say 'He/she was a good man/woman'. That phrase is only used to give peace to the loved ones of someone who had never professed faith in Christ". In other words if they were 'Saved' the Pastor would say so.

Ever since Fred told me that, when I hear the phrase "he's a good person", it sends chills up my spine.

I believe that most of the people who wind up in Hollywood are the ones who were either societal outcasts or so egotistical as to believe that they are their own gods.

It seems to me that their overlying moral emphasis is hatred for the society that called them sick, immoral, sinful, ugly, etc. so they found like-minded souls in the arts and seek to cause as much discomfort for American society as possible. They WANT to wiggle their dicks in your face. They LOVE "wardrobe malfunctions" on national television. They can't get enough of twisting the morals of children into believing that homosexuality, adultery, drug abuse, alcoholism and profanity are "cool" and that only the "moral taliban" stands opposed to them.

People in Hollywood and other public figures in sports, music, etc. show total stupidity when they think their political opinion is important. The smart ones with good marketing sense realize that if they make political statements, they automatically turn off half their potential market. Those who are smartest keep their mouths shut, and reap the rewards.

Hollywood is an intensely political place; some very talented people go unrecognized, while the lesser talented by virtue of money or connections are sometimes elevated to the heavens.

So the people who really make it --who are really rolling in dough-- often have a fatalistic attitude. And knowing the truth, they also have a certain amount of GUILT about their wealth.

This wealth guilt compels them to profess the glories of poverty. They suffer spams of imagined sympathy for the less fortune --sometimes the sympathy is even real.

Call it a secular way of atoning for sins.

Yes --in Hollywood, socialism is secular pennance for WEALTH.

They all live in moral relativism and want desperately to believe they are gods! Religious people, exercising good judgement between right and wrong (moral and immoral) put them on a guilt trip that makes them lash out like evil spirits in possession of someone.

They fear the truly moral like the devil is depicted fearing holy water! They don't wanna git any on themselves, lest it burn a hole right down through 'em like the "china syndrome!" Ha Ha ha!!! (evil sounding laughter)

Hell for them would be sitting in church with old Billy Sunday preachin hellfire and brimstone to em till they confessed their massive sins and crawled to the alter in conviction before God!!! They have dreamt and smelt their own burning flesh and felt the Devil's pitchfork tines jabbing thier burning butts!!! Haaaaaaaaaaa Ha Ha Ha!!!

They already know they're in for torment for eternity if they don't repent and they hate it!!! That makes 'em hate the followers of Christ with a passion...

While we all agree that Hollywood has been a major negative influence, and that the movies have done more to degrade our culture then just about any other force, Karen is on the cutting edge and doing important work in this industry.

While we all hurl the rocks at Hollywood may we remember that Jesus said let the man that has not sinned throw the first stone.

These folks in Hollywood need to hear the word of God just like the rest of us. Until they have a changed heart they will not change the content of their movies. Karen Covell is doing mission work with these people using the most powerful tool mankind has which is love and prayer.Her work by its very nature benefits us all.
