Crimes against Lebanon and Palestine Continue

The U.S.-Israeli war against Lebanon an d Palestine has created immense suffering for the people but it has al so created widespread resistance. The Bush administration and the Israeli g overnment believed that this massive bombing campaign would force all of Le banon into a new U.S. sphere of influence. Just the opposite has happened. This same fantasy has backfired in Iraq as well.

Overwhelming military power has inflicted unimaginable human suffering b ut failed in achieving its political objectives of transforming the entire oil rich region into a virtual colony. The effort to achieve the “new ” colonialism by brute force has and will inspire continued resistanc e by the Lebanese, Palestinian, Iraqi, Syrian and Iranian people and all th e peoples of the area.

The August 12 E mergency Demonstrations were an important step in forging the kind of U.S. anti-war movement in the United States that embraces the just cause of the peoples’ in the Middle East who are rejecting domination by the new i mperial Empire. Instead of having the people of the United States pitted ag ainst the Arab people our message is one of solidarity.

People in the United States must struggle for jobs, justice, education, and in opposition to racism at home rather than be dragged along by the war makers in Washington D.C. Their chauvinistic campaign against those in the Middle East who are seeking to freely determine their own destiny is a cal culated propaganda effort by the Bush administration -- and all those Republicans and Democrats alike -- who support its program of endless war. It is not the people of the United States but the big transnational corpora tions and banks, and especially the largest oil monopolies, who are the rea l beneficiaries of the Bush program.

Help take the next steps and stay involved as an activist or supporter o f the anti-war movement. Congratulations to all the thousands of volunteers and supporters who made the August 12 demonstrations such an important ste p in continuing to build this movement.

Militarily, we're winning the war. We win all the battles, control the air, we're killing more of the enemy than we lose, etc.

It's culturally we seem to be losing.

Now let's see, who is it that are our cultural warriors???

Hollywood. The Press. The music industry.

Ah. THEY are the ones losing the war. I see.

What we really need now are movies, shows, songs, etc, to sell the world on a few simple things.

It's time for our 'message' people to get in the game. I can't imagine how they could oppose such a message.

There's no way that is 30,000 people. At most, it looks like a few thousand.

What liars.

And how many of those people are American citizens? And how many of those people were reporters that joined the protest ;-)

I would not be surprised with all of the anti-American and anti-war demonstrations going on,one of or a group of protestors is going to push the wrong button. You may very well see the American people start taking the law into their own hands.

The ACLU national organization and many state chapters are headed by "progressive" secular (and I might add suicidal) Jews.

These fools actually believe they are the vanguard of a marxist revolution that is joining with oppressed "people of color" in the Middle East to overthrow the capitalist, racist, imperialist oppressors.

What irony. Only the most spoiled bourgeois children could ever hold such decadent views!

That the NYT doesn't tell the public, protect the public, but telling the public who is Brian Becker and what does he want is an indictment againt the NYT.

The NYT is a joke. They should let people know the facts and let the public decide. But they'd rather print propoganda to help those who hate America.

What oil monopolies? Oil is a fungible commodity traded freely on world markets. The big oil companies are publicly traded and the majority of the owners are savers and pensioners. These people want to take control of the oil business away from the people and give it to their politically connected friends! I'm sure this irony is also completely lost on them.

I'm sure the fine folks from the DC Chapter of FR can refute much of this.

There were absolutely, positively no more than 10,000, and that is being generous. We discussed this after the event and again today at our meeting and most believe the number was somewhere between 5-7000.

This was not your ordinary run-of-the-mill commie rally. For the first time I felt really anxious as we countered them. These people were vile and out of control. They threw a half full mid size bottle of water at us and a couple other things that didn't make it to us. They went ballistic on more than one occasion and the LEO's had to move them back into the street. Some managed to get in behind us on more than one occasion.

Thanks for the update.

There is an AAR w/pics from b4everfree here. Looking at the pics I got the idea that the moonbats were a little more agitated than normal.

They should have been smiling from ear to ear and having a great time. Hadn't they heard there is a cease fire ;^)

Nope! They were at the White House by 10:30 or before. No time to catch the news when one is on a mission. BTW, I just saw on the sidebar that hizb'allah already broke the cease fire. Whew! That was a long one!
