Great job EC, another top ten in the books!

He asked House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra (R-Michigan) about this, and the chairman remarked that "some folks in the United States want to get rid of the tools we have developed over the past five years."

I assume Hoekstra was being critical of the "some folks" who want to get rid of our current tools. Good for him.

What else did Hoekstra say on the show? Anybody?

Mark Kilmer had posted more if you follow the Read More » link

HOEKSTRA ON FNS. FNS Host Wallace next spoke to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoeksta (R-Michigan). Hoekstra said that the foiled plot had al Qaeda's hallmarks. He said that we needed to recognize that there are other plots ongoing on how to attack us. Wallace asked him if Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf should be doing more to stop the terrorists in his country, which Wallace called "ground zero." Chairman Hoekstra explained that terrorists could be found in Europe, Britain, Canada, etc. Wallace pointed out that President Bush calls Iraq the main front in the war on terror, but doesn't this prove that terror is more widespread than just the confines of Iraq. Hoekstra said that this was a global war on terror.

Wallace pointed out that foreign governments are concerned about our ability to keep secrets, that our intelligence might wind up on the front page of the New York Times. Hoekstra said that the leaks were "devastating" our ability to strengthen alliances to fight terror.

Wallace asked him if Britain had better tools to fight terror, ones which we might want to emulate. Hoekstra said that "some folks in the United States want to get rid of the tools we have developed over the past five years."

Chairman Hoekstra wants to lose the partisanship on this matter.

Kilmer does that for each of the shows, if he gets to watch them all.  Last week I think he missed CNN.
