Preparing for a Building Explosion The use of explosives by terrorists can result in collapsed buildings and fires.
Seriously folks, we need to be on our toes. If August 16-22 is significant to these jokers then during the week ahead we need to be vigilant.
Here's the CNN Reliable Sources exchange between Arriannnna Huffington and Howard Kurtz:
"...KURTZ: Arianna Huffington, you're obviously on a different side of the political fence than Charles Johnson (of Little Green Footballs), but do you think this is another example of bloggers, you know, holding the mainstream media accountable?
HUFFINGTON: Absolutely. In fact, I want to congratulate Charles. That is exactly what bloggers should be doing. It was outrageous what Reuters allowed to appear. And the fact that they fired the photographer, it was the only legitimate response.
And I want to take this a step further and say that we should hold all journalists accountable, whether they are photojournalists or not, for deceptive statements, whether they're images or words.
I mean, you had your own headline anchorman, Chuck Roberts, describe Lamont as the al Qaeda candidate. This is an equally deceitful, fraudulent, fabricated statement. There should be zero tolerance for all those deceits, whether in images or words.
KURTZ: Well, what Chuck Roberts said, according to the transcript, was that some are calling Ned Lamont the al Qaeda candidate. But it's certainly not a formulation I would have used.
HUFFINGTON: Right -- nobody, see you cannot found a single person who called Lamont the al Qaeda candidate, except Chuck Roberts. And what has been the consequences when it comes to Chuck Roberts? Has he been demoted to be covering Paris Hilton or entertainment news where the truth doesn't matter? It's about time that there is that same kind of accountability that Charles is demanding from photojournalists from journalists, as well.
KURTZ: All right. Charles Johnson, let me bring you back to the question of this photo. Once this -- you pointed this out on your Little Green Football site,..."
"""Did either of you catch Fineman making that statement that the Republicans have to make the situation of the other day seem more threatening than it actually is? """
Let's remember to check The Chris Matthews Show transcript, I can't quote Fineman, but I remember how openly hostile he was to Bush.

I am so sorry...I have a bad habit of getting involved on one thread...and forgetting to check pings..or go back to other threads.
I have been pretty much parked on the LIVE Middle East threads for a month.
I am not Jewish, and have never been to Israel..but ever since I can remember, I have had an affinity for that country that the Jewish people.
I keep thinking things will slow down...and I will get back to my usual threads...but, so far, it is getting more and more interesting and frightening.
I really think that conflict is a precursor to something that will involve the USA more intimately, than it is already...and I don't want to be the last to know.
I appreciate you wondering where I have been...makes me feel good..
I did read your pre-view thread ..and the articles...but, I didn't watch the shows today...and just read this thread for information.
Keep holding down this fort..this thread as well as you do...and I will be around...just ping me..(just don't be surprised if it takes hours for me to notice..lol).
Peggy & George are becoming/have become... Republican versions of Cokie & Sam.
They went over to the dark side some time ago, too bad.
Last night at work, not one of the usual suspects was against what happened.

Good news! A little too close to home for you and your co-workers for them to pretend that the Dems would have been as effective.
For sure they are planning something, but I imagine that most will be used for calls among and to conspirators as they can not be traced and only contain 40 minutes of phone time. Of course this was brought on by revelations by the NY Times and others that the NSA and other agencies were tracking conversations. The Arabs are paranoid, both plotters and non-plotters, as well they should be, that the government is going to come and get them. I think our government's ability to do that is less than believed, but the perception is there and I'm happy if it dissuades would-be-terrorists from doing other than talking about Jihad following Friday prayers at your local friendly mosque.
They not only are building a border fence but have cutting edge technology and brilliant people heading things up when it comes to airline safety for example.
In Israel everyone is checked in an orderly manner before boarding,it happens really fast, there are few prohibitions on what you can or can't take cause all luggage is checked. But it's done in an orderly fashion with experienced competent people instead of the bozos we hire over here. All that makes a huge difference.
Another problem is like an Israeli terror expert told one of our inquiring minds last week "you(the US) are wasting your time targeting weapons, you need to target the terrorists." There is so much wisdom in that comment not much else needs be said.
He really didn't challenge Chertoff much. We've seen him much worse, but today he just filled Timmy's chair and played it relatively straight.
In 2000 Arianna hosted a Shadow Convention in Philadelphia to highlight John McCain and just generally give a forum to anyone who wanted to trash Candidate Bush. The event was a big failure (except on cspan) and she looked to the left for adulation after that.
The one thing that puzzles me is them taking batteries out of the cell phones. Would that not make them unusable?

You seem to be making the assumption that these people wanted Phones to use as Phones. I think they wanted the components that happen to be sold in these phones.
Weird. Are the Feds that dumb? Or trying to set someone up?
#492, Yup it is teamwork.......We win...
