Listen, with the MSM we're in a no-win situation here. They report the US pressured the UK to act now as a political move. But, if no action were taken and 10 airliners were blown out of the air the MSM would be hammering away because "we knew but we failed to act." Sheesh!Last night at work, not one of the usual suspects was against what happened. They didnt even respond when I pointed out that wiretapping contributed to the thwarting. Of course Im in the airline industry, where we take terror threats personally. But the point is, not one of the Kerryites had a problem with the way it went down. In fact, one of the diehards said, we need republicans for the duration of the "threat period"...

Maybe plot involves van bomb taking out bridges, but if they have a live suicide driver, why use a detonator?Maybe because westernized muslims will take part in murder, but balk at joining the victims..

Reich on Steffy doesn't give American's much credit, typically, saying that even though Dems are anti-war, they are NOT weak on national security and why can't people realize that?
Remember Harry Reid who took such great pride in 'killing' the Patriot Act, to site just one example? Me thinks it is you, Robert Reich who is stoopid, if you think we'll ignore the moutain of evidence that belies your assertion. Now go back to munchkinland.

Peach asked:
Does anyone know if the ceasefire requires that Hezbollah return the kidnapped Israeli soldiers?
Tomguy replied:
Per a dem pundit on FoxNews, the answer is 'no'. The return of the Israeli soldiers is not a part of the cease-fire agreement.
What I have heard is that it's in the resolution, but not required.
It's Security Council Resolution 1701, but I haven't found the text posted yet.

Bahbah, Reich and Co. did a marvelous job of policing aspirin factories with all of that intelligence back in the "Wag the Dog" days, didn't they?
Demkicker, Mehlman's excellent comments were certainly magnified by his appearing last in the order. Foiled terrorist plots and the continued isolation of the Mullets in Iran provide plenty of justification for our Iraq policy etc.. The key is to keep the history of terrorist activity fresh in the public's mind while ensuring that statements coming out of Iraq get plenty of airplay. That being the case, I expect that the Ahmadinejad interview with Wallace on Sicksty Minutes will also provide another glaring example of how easily the MSM is misled and/or seeks to mislead.

Okay, now that things are winding down here, I am replying to my own post with butterflies in my stomach.
BUT I have a confession to make and since I post frequently to this particular thread, I'd really like to confess here and get this out of the way.
Seems I got carried away and posted another rant on the News and Activism board. It's a really scary and personal post but the reaction from Freepers has been heartening. So link to it and read but promise no one will beat me up for it. Once regular participants on this thread read it I will be beyond it and can move on without fear.
Maybe after reading it one can get a better perspective of why I'm one bitter ex-liberal. But hey, you don't have to read it. It's a bittersweet little post.

They were buying in Grafton WV as well. All around the country this is going on. I'd sure like to believe the Feebs are connecting the dots. If they're not, they'll say nothing. If they are, they'll still say nothing. This is as it should be. Only time will tell.

Did you catch ABC's token "conservative" George Will saying John Kerry's statement that the WOT should be primarily a matter for law enforcement was proven prescient by the Britain arrests?
Oh well, "This Week Without David Brinkley" may suck royally, but it at least it's consistent about it.

I caught most of Charles Johnson's CNN Reliable Sources appearance. He was paired with Arianna Huffington herself.
The leader of LGF did very well and was very professional. The Huff was shrill and unresponsive. And Howie kissed her tukus and tried to pull a Timmah like attack on Johnson. He constantly downplayed the significance of the faked, edited and staged news from Lebanon, actually suggesting that it wasn't really being done in service of Hizbullah. And when they moved on to the Lieberman/Lamont election Johnson pointed out the Huffington Post based racist attack on Lieberman. Kurtz completely ignored it. Kurtz and Huffington came off as twits, but also it was obvious they considered themselves allies.

Sorry Peach, wasn't able to find the story of the hair dryers. Maybe some other FReeper will pick up on it.

Me too.
As an only tepid follower of country music (I'm a blues-rocker) I heard the song, but never paid attention to the lyrics until I heard my daughter singing them. Needless to say it instantly grabbed my attention! From that point on the station changed as soon as a DC tune came on...
Their goofy imbecilic stabs at politics only reaffirmed my initial impression of them as (dixie) twits of the first order.

The question was rhetorical. As was the answer. But the main question is, why the spate of of domestic incidents of late, and who is pulling the strings?

One thing is sure, a divided America with only 2 years left on Dubya's term is no way to confront this Beast. People like Diana Irey (irey.com) have to defeat people like Murtha to get unified support for NSA surveillance, serious war effort in WOT, etc.
