Those are just some of the names I've been called since I published an Op-Ed article in the Washington Post to commemorate the fifth anniversary of my brother's death. After briefly stating that David and his fiancee were shot and killed by the fiancee's mother, who was angry that she had to move out of their L.A. apartment, I went on to argue for a national ban on handguns. The gun control lobby, led by the Brady Campaign, has worked passionately to make guns safer and to regulate their sales. But such measures, I contended, will never significantly reduce the annual U.S. death toll by firearms — 12,000 — because most murderers use legally purchased handguns and know how to operate them safely.
A couple of days later, while procrastinating on a writing assignment, I Googled my article. And so began my strange, weeklong trip through chat rooms on such pro-gun websites as keepandbeararms.com freerepublic.com, packing.org and rightnation.us.

"Jenny" appears to be the typical ill-informed anti-gun nutcase. Two words for her----"Gary Kleck".
Jenny has chosen the traditional liberal mouthpiece trick that Ann Coulter exposes, speaking as a victim, so that no one can criticise her without being be callous.
And we seem to be buying a lot of it. Why do we allow her, with no evidence given, to demonize the mother-in-law? (By the way, if the brother and significant other were not married,is this a mother-in-law? Must be a California law.) For all we know, the mother was tormented by the younger couple. Did she ever allege "elder abuse?" If so, did the government (police) ever do anything? What were brother David and significant other planning to do the help the old woman? Even if they were not physically or mentally abusive to her, pushing her out into the street is a terrible thing to do and disrespectful of the mother. It takes a village? No, it takes a family, something David and fiancee were apparently willing to ignore, at least from all the information presented here.
For all we know, the mother had as much justification in shooting these two as any of the women acquitted of murder because their husbands were abusive towards them. This of course could explain why a mother could kill her own child; it could have been self-defense.
I see no reason to assume Jenny is telling more truth about the elderly mother than she is about the things we can so easily refute.
You could well be right. I was basing my statements off of Jenny's original article. The police statement was much more...noncommital.

Should we include all those that died -- US, German, Japanese, and the many other non-combatant casualties of WWII, because of Germany and Japan? I think we can and if so, the numbers would be much higher.
I don't trust governments and find little need for them except for the limited function of :
forming a more perfect Union, establishing Justice, insuring domestic Tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general Welfare, and securing the Blessings of Liberty, by ordaining, establishing, and abiding by the Constitution for the United States of America.

Jenny goes out of her way to search for negative feedback on her screed, and complains when she finds it. Truly a microcosm of the liberal mindset.
If Jenny would truly targeted by gun nuts she would not longer be writing, breathing or doing much of anything really.

Where'd she get this bit of fiction? I see she doesn't provide a reference (which shouldn't be hard as there are plenty of anti-rights groups busy creating "statistics" to support rights-reduction).
