They should have never sent Rice in the first place. It will just make her look weak and ineffective when the ceasefire falls apart. Someone below Rice's level should have been sent. No ceasefire will hold. This is just going to make America's Sec. of State look bad.

The keyword needs to be:
Lasting peace.
How can this be accomplished with Hezbollah still around and the Lebanese army, those who supposedly will be the main peacekeepers having Hezbollah fighters amongst their midst.
It's the day of reckoning delayed, either way, in favor of Israel with a new bitter fight, or in favor of Hezbollah's ultimate objective with Iran's support:
Annihilation of Israel.

Israel should turn it DOWN. Some things are more important than the friendship of the United States. Honor and victory. And abandoning the boys tells every Israeli soldier that if they're taken hostage, their government will abandon them too - for a piece of paper. I demand Israel not agree to Rice's expectations. And if her leaders do, they will all pay the price.

give us a chance to have an enduring ceasefire," Rice said.

lets see....4 weeks ago she was calling it what?

She added that she expected the resolution to introduce "an enduring ceasefire."

Sadly, methinks Dr. Rice isn't as bright as I thought she was, or she is an altruist.

More appropriate headline:

"US expects Lebanon violence to end in the End of Days."
