Immigration officials have now picked up all but two of the eleven Egyptian exchange students who came to the U-S for a summer course in Montana but never showed up for classes.
U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents tracked three of the students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were arrested yesterday. Others were picked up earlier in New Jersey, Maryland, Chicago and Minnesota.

Debbie Schlussel tells about the Maryland pizza place and the previous incident on her website. You might have to scroll down a little.

Understand. Middle Eastern neighbors & clients (the Muslim ones) are now on my suspicious list. I don't know whether I'm being paranoid or practical. When one from Syria knows another from Iran for no obvious reason, it makes me curious. When an Arab Israeli citizen who has always claimed he loved Israel tells me now that Hezbollah is right, even if his family in Israel gets hit, it makes me wonder what his motives are for being here.
I imagine the Feds have been inundated with calls from concerned and worried citizens.
This sounds harsh. It's not intended to be.
I call us the microwave society where we can make a baked potato in 4 minutes. We expect everything "on our timetable".
has anyone heard what they are/were up to ?? seeing how easy the get lost?? in this country
And now what?
Hopefully #10 and #11 are being followed by our men in black to see where they will will lead them. That would be much more valuable than picking them up right now.
Perhaps that is not what is really believed by authorities, but rather a tactic aimed at keeping them in the dark about what we know. We play games with these people in an attempt to find out as much a possible. It would seem to me that appearing naive on these matters would be to our advantage.
Thanks for posting this update.

Two teenage boys were charged with second-degree theft after Bettendorf police found them in possession of radios and other equipment reported missing from a White House agency.
Matthew Bradshaw, 13, and Angel Luis Reyes III, 14, both of Bettendorf, were arrested July 30 when police discovered them with communications equipment that belonged to the White House Communications Agency.
The equipment, described by the Associated Press as three radios and more than a half-dozen "earpiece/wrist microphone combinations," apparently was reported missing less than a week before a July 17 visit to Bettendorf by Vice President Dick Cheney.
Officials said the radios couldn't be operated without a special code. No White House or Secret Service officials would comment, however, about how the radios disappeared in the first place....
They won't release the information until all are in custody.
Of course. Some of the folks here have to make up their minds. Do they expect the FBI to publicly release the full dossiers on every suspect in every cell under surveillance as the NYT would prefer? Or do they want to let the investigators do what it takes to keep the homefront quiet as it has been since 9/11? Sheesh.
took the "not a terrorits risk" out:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/12/egyptian.students/
"A preliminary investigation "has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by any of the 11 Egyptian students," the FBI has said."
Court documents said the White House Communications Agency reported the items missing in July, less than a week before a visit by Vice President Dick Cheney...
A Secret Service spokesman and an official from the White House Communications Agency both declined comment.
Whatever their assignment, it seems things have heated up since they got here. LE have know a long time about the cell phones being purchased. Maybe we screwed up but then again these guys may have been let in to lead us their net works. It just seems remarkable that we are able to pick them up all over the country, if we don't know where they are.
See posts 110 and 114.
A "we are investigating or can't comment " would be fine. This "not terrorism" before they even check things out kind of insults our intelligence IMO anyway.
do some googling on baltimore and islam, you might find some organizations, non profits, that have listed "friendly" businesses on their sites...
Be right there. I'm over here lol
Thanks for the link, that was great, it also led to the Baltimore Sun article too. One quote from the sun was
"Authorities declined to explain how they discovered the Dundalk address, but Evans believes they were led there by another Mansoura native living in Reisterstown, with whom the students had also stayed while in the Baltimore area."
Gouda (pizza owner) used to live in Reisterstown last year. (my own research). Maybe another family member became suspicious. Who knows.
By the way, there is another Safa pizza in Essex, Maryland. Same general area.
