OK, count me as clueless regarding disposable cell phones, but isn't the point that you use them and throw them away? In other words, wouldn't you need to buy them again and again?
Given the secrets that the NYT chose to expose, even if only for communication, why wouldn't the terrorists want tons of disposable cell phones?
These are cell phones that use prepaid phone cards. You can buy more minutes any time you want. They are only disposable in the sense that there is no contract or monthy bill.
Crooks and terrorists like them because they are untraceable, they can use them once and get rid of them.
One is the trigger, the other is the detonator. Phone one is with explosive. Phone two calls phone one. BANG.
You use two of them, one is rigged to the bomb and then you use the second one to call it, this triggers the detonator and sets the bomb off. You can also rig the alarm on one phone, which is with the bomb, to set the detonator off.
-you buy cards that add minutes on to the ones that come with the phone......you don't litterally throw the phone away...it just cannot be easily traced as you don't sign your life away with a contract. The phones are cheap versions of the expensive ones, but not to throw away that quickly.
