The Vatican is there, the head of the historic Christian church. The Islamists are after symbols and this is their most hated. When I visited Italy last year, the Vatican was the most secure--by far--of any place I went.

Everybody knows that Constantinople is the head of the TRUE historic Church. Ever heard of the Hagia Sophia? (Just giving you a hard time ;-))

I do agree that Rome is very likely to be a prime target of the Islamofacists.
