"forcing mothers to taste their bottles of baby milk before boarding"
Would martyrs care if it did taste bad, or poisonous?

Too bad she's not in America. The ACLU would rush to her defense. Of course, they will not rush to the defense of the Soldiers being held in Pendelton stockade.

>>The Asian woman was taken by police handcuffed and still wearing pyjamas from a top floor flat in Denver Road.<<
1. I wonder if "Asian" is a polite way to say "Pakistani."
2. I hope they were extra gentle with her since she was pregnant but if she is a suspect in a plot to kill thousands of people then they had to arrest her even if she was 9 months pregnant and nude.

"Asian" is standard British usage to refer to folks from Pakistan, India, etc. I don't know what they use for people from Japan, Korea, China, etc.--maybe "Oriental" still?

Interesting... in Atlanta using the word "oriental" gets you dirty looks from the PC set. Thanks for the info.

I tried to leave a comment on the D H S comment line. I was going to say that I think the British authorities did a great job. But that's because they were looking for TERRORISTS, not VIAGRA. Alas, I couldn't leave the comment because the box was full. I guess a lot of Americans are calling and complaining about their makeup and body deodorants being confiscated.

Midgets can also carry explosives. ~And dwarves.
In fact, they can stow them in baby strollers and the kid's diapers.
No sympathy. No pity. No remorse. No compassion for the men, women, and children, civilians all on the planes.
They will kill and she probably knew.

From the source article, I followed the link to the two comments that the story has so far attracted. Here are the comments:
"There would have been pregnant woman and women with babies on any airliners blown up by liquid explosive bombs."
- Harry Basset, Whitby
"The police cannot afford sentimentality when they are dealing with terrorists threats."
- Margaret Jones, Worcester, UK
As to taking out someone in her pajamas:
It is standard police practice (on both sides of the pond) in cases of high risk take-downs to make the raid in the small hours of the morning (such as 0300hrs). This minimizes the prospect of the police being met with violent resistance by awake and alert perps.
