Dan Malloy's gubernatorial campaign called Tuesday morning for all of New Haven's voting machines to be inspected after a voter discovered Malloy's name missing from a New Haven voting machine.
The incident took place within the first hour of voting at the Ellsworth Avenue fire station, in Ward 24. A Malloy voter noticed that Malloy's name wasn't on the ballot. He informed people at the polls, including a Malloy volunteer named Al London, who contacted the campaign. Malloy is running for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination against John DeStefano, who's the mayor of New Haven.
New Haven's registrar of voters, Sharon Ferrucci, said during an interview in her office Tuesday morning that the incident was an honest mistake.
The Malloy campaign "called the whole world" about the incident and left the poll station's moderator "hysterical," Ferrucci complained. She defended her moderators are honest, hard-working, civic-minded, "wonderful people" who train for the job; many are Republicans, she said.
Moderators are supposed to check the voting machines against sample ballots before the polls open at 6 a.m. The moderator at Ellsworth Avenue forgot to do that, according to Ferrucci. So she didn't notice that Line A on the ballot -- which lists Malloy as well as U.S. Senate candidate Joseph Lieberman, the endorsed candidates -- was missing. Only Line B appeared, with the names of DeStefano and Senate candidate Ned Lamont.

What a surprise.....NOT
One can only what this could lead to. I haven't heard Lieberman comment on it yet.
The question is, will this lead to something?
Hardly a surprise.
I would hope that regardless of the outcome, that Lieberman will remain an Independent. He now understands what his "friends" will do to him.
And what the heck is that supposed to mean? Why even say it?
I see the hand of Moveon.org
It would be hillarious if they had a revote and Lamont lost. Get me the popcorn...........
There are two factors worth noting in this case. First of all, New Haven is Joe Lieberman's home town. In fact, he represented it in the state Senate for a dozen years. Second of all, Dan Malloy's opponent in the Gubenatorial primary is the Mayor of New Haven. And Malloy's opponent won by a 51% to 49% margin.
This may have altered the outcome of both primaries.
Just "one" person noticed. Geesh! He must have a real huge following in New Haven.
"I know lots of Republicans and some of them are quite honest."
Voter Fraud! Voter Fraud! Looks like they're deating their own ala Lake County Indiana
In business, I have always been amazed that when the boss makes an honest mistake, it's always in his favor. New Haven must have a lot of voters. This is a big throw for the mayor.
I thought that screwball McKinney declared the other night that we should tolerate no more stolen elections.
This could very well be, but it could be a locally-based fraud.
Since it's the same deranged moonbats that cry voting fraud at every election that are now supporting Ned's candidacy, does that mean they will demand a re vote? I ain't going to hold my breath.
I don't buy any disenfranchised voter argument without a face, a name and evidence.
For example. Who is the voter and did that precint not produce any votes for Lieberman or Malloy?
In a related matter, New Haven is Joe Lieberman's home town.
The situation seems to be working out just fine, however. :-)
