Maryam, who is 20, wears a fish-shaped tattoo on her shoulder and won't give her full name.

A Christian Tattoo?

Twenty-year-old student Yasha shows his back tattooed with the English letters KMKKY representing the names of members of his family, in Tehran, Iran, Friday, July 21, 2006. It's an undercover movement _ literally: Tattoos have become a fad among many young Iranians who proudly display them in private but must keep them under wraps from authorities. I've never had a desire for a tattoo, but when faced with the question of 'If I would, what would it be?' I'd have to go with this:

". . . who does body art . . . "

Sorry. As soon as someone starts calling it "body art", I stop taking the person seriously, and then start sounding like adults in a "Peanuts" cartoon.

The only real plan for the future is that some girls pick intimate spots that only a spouse would see -- such as places normally covered by undergarments.

Oh, that's going to go over well with some future spouse if they buy into the modesty part of the culture. "Yeah, I took my shirt and bra off so some guy could tattoo a ring of flames around my breast. Honey, put the knife down..."

That's what I was thinking. Fast-forward to wedding night:

"Oh Maryam, what a pretty fish design at the top of your asscrack! The man who put it there must have been particularly skilled!"

I'd say the time has just about come on this thread for this picture. It has to happen sooner or later on any tattoo thread.

Aisha: Ahmed, I got this tattoo to remind you that I am now the only one in your life.

Actually, the mullahs in Iran are very pro-tattoo, they're all for tattooing numbers on the forearms of all the Jews.

It's an old Islamic tradition. Uncle Adolf just borrowed the custom.

I wonder whatever happened to that guy. Is he still alive, is he still full of metal? And is he a he or a she? Inquiring minds want to know, but are not losing any sleep over it.

I'm guessing that unless this person got help, he or she has most likely killed himself/herself by now.
