The terrorists may not be winning, but they are sure depleating our treasury.Perhaps they took a few notes on how we defeated The Soviet Union.
To: kempster
I always felt the words "war on terrorism" were too vague and didn't direct our efforts in the right direction. Absolutely. The problem is not the specific methods used by Islamofascists, but their deranged objective of a global Caliphate where everyone either submits to Islam or dies. A "war on terrorism" makes about as much sense as a "war on blitzkriegs" would have in 1940.

Geez, man, whose side are you on? It damned sure ain't America's. You're spreading nothing but feces on this thread.I'm on the side of the men and women in uniform who defend our country, not the self-serving buffoons Washington.

"It's a nightmare, everyone's stuck..." the senator [Chuck Schumer] told The Associated Press. Wrong, you moron! It's a BLESSING that everyone is STILL ALIVE!
The nightmare would have been if everyone WAS MURDERED...as intended!

That made my day! Earlier, Mrs. Bat was hoping that maybe Michael Moore or Madonna were traveling there today - this is just as good...

If there are sensible muslims, let them do something about this. Unless and until that happens, I have no problem assuming that they all want me dead or subjugated to this demon "allah".
To: Coop
OK smart guy then why would Bush just all of sudden do this? Hmmm.... This is why we have this post!
To: AmericanInTokyo
Actually I prefer to use the term "Islaminazi". Can we add that to the national vocabulary while we're at it?

I hope this will stick and will stop using his "war against terrorism" idiocy.

My fellow FReeper makes a very good point. When I read the transcripts of the President's speech to a joint session of Congress shortly after 9/11, I'm struck by how far we have moved away from the clarity of the President's words that night. Let's pray for western civilization that the clarity has returned.
To: conservativecorner
If he is so concerned about 'Islamic Fascists' why the hell doesnt he secure our borders?
Tough words but Im sorry to say meaningless.
To: Coop
Well if we know that then I ask you again why would Bush all of a sudden identify them? After all you said I don't know what I am talking about. So please enlighten me with why he did it?
To: conservativecorner
I'm not. We haven't moved far at all. Thank God!

I put our country above political parties and personalities. If the President wants to formally declare war and mobilize the country to fight and win it, I'd be one of first in line for re-activation in the Army. But if he feeds us TROP speeches and skirts the issues, I'll call him on it.
