Is this wailing woman from Hezbollah central casting? These pictures - taken nearly two weeks apart and which some observers say seem staged - show an unidentified woman wearing all black, raising her hands to the sky as she stands in front of different scenes of devastation, apparently in the same neighborhood.
The first image, by Reuters photographer Issam Kobeisi, is dated July 22, and the caption reads, "A Lebanese woman wails after looking at the wreckage of her apartment in a building, that was demolished by the Israeli attacks in southern Beirut."
The second picture, by Associated Press lensman Hussein Malla, is dated Saturday and is captioned: "A Lebanese woman reacts to the destruction after she came to inspect her house in the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon."
The BBC online used the AP photo of the woman but later pulled it after getting e-mail complaints.
"We weren't in a position to get to the bottom of this immediately ourselves so we decided to update the picture with a different, more recent image," said BBC Web editor Steve Herrmann.
A photo editor at AP said: "I don't know if we could even tell if the picture was the same or just similar." Samantha Topping, a spokesperson for Reuters, would only say, "We don't pose photos."

This stuff cannot be posted too much or talked about too much
The MSM still ignores and denies the huge level of outright propagandistic manipulation on the part of Hezbollah (and Palestinians in other circumstances) wherein overt fraud, simply making things up and manufacturing false propaganda pictures.
Our major media have fallen for these cheap tricks for decades and presented this overt propaganmda as truth and presented manufactured news or news photos as truth. This is probably done out of incommptetence but also importantly because the purveyors of our major news media accept and appreciate the views being dissemiunated with this propaganda.
The former monopoly on information is gone so we can now inform large numbers of peoploe about the lies and propaganda of the main stream major corporate media in very concrete documented real time ways such as this.
This is irresponsible journalistic propaganda, pure and simple.
Weren't in a position to get to the bottom of this - my foot. This terrorist-enabler was merely hoping they could swap the picture out without having to explain anything.
