Would-be robbers get cut ... and run - (At least one attacker left some fingers behind)

Again, crime continues to blossom in Minneapolis - while our Mayor sits and fiddles.
Crimes like these are becoming more and more brazen in the last year.
I'm glad that the criminals paid for their crime. Frankly, they deserved worse than losing a few fingers.
Opinions or comments - anyone?

Sounds like Minneapolis is going the way of Madison -- it's attractive to Egyptian terrorists now.

I don't recall 31st and Lyndale as being that bad of a neighborhood. Have things changed that much since I've lived in Minneapolis?

I live about 30 blocks south of there - about a 5-10 minute drive right up Lyndale Avenue.
It's a respectable neighborhood - by Minneapolis standards.
But crime has been spilling out of the north side and south central areas into other parts of Minneapolis.
It happens more often than we know. This is just one of the more high-profile incidents.

Sadly, Minneapolis has been attractive to Jihadists for a while now.

Remember this guy?

I often wonder how these thugs go back to their homies and try to explain how they managed to bungle up thier crime and lose a lot of blood and some fingers in the process.

Now, if it was 31st and Lyndale North, different story when it comes to crime, at least, from what I remember.
So, in your opinion, is South Minneapolis becoming dangerous? I know South Minneapolis used to be considered a rather nice area.
In the spring and summer I used to have a lot of fun riding around lakes, Harriet, Lake of the Isles and Calhoun. I also liked the fact that Minneapolis was a good city for bicycling, overall.

Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles are still decent. During the day, it's fine and chances are, you'd be fine walking around them at night. But crime is finally starting to creep into even these areas.
The Uptown area is starting to get a little rough at night. Shootings and robberies are becoming a little more prevalent. A very high-profile murder happened outside of Calhoun Square earlier this year.
You're seeing groups of blacks (I hate to single out any one ethnic group - but it is true) hanging around, looking for people to rob after bar close. I know a couple of Minneapolis police. They told me about it.
