In a statement filled with somber and serious tones regarding the discovery of a plot to blow up flights of commercial planes in the United Kingdom, the strongest levels of anger and outrage have been expressed. The spokesperson demanded the attention of the American people and called for an immediate investigation into how such a thing could take place "even after all that has taken place in the past several months". Bill Keller, the editor of the New York Times, and the spokesman asked for the patients of his readers. In a stark display of outrage, Keller pounded a table and roared "We'll find out who hid this information from us and believe me, heads will roll!"
But Ned Lamont says everything would be okay if we just bring our troops home. There ain't no war, according to the Democrats.
I'll betcha over at DU they're already calling this an August surprise.
Side bet: The NYT will claim they had foreknowledge but withheld publication at the request of authorities, whatever that means.

I suppose most will say it is good thing the plot was broken up--you know, saved lives and all of that-- but what if the plot was uncovered with a phone tap on a call to Pakistan? Wouldn't the trajedy of the caller having his privacy violated off set the benefit of discovering the plan? And now I suppose Bushco et al will want to prosecute these fellows even if incriminating info was gained in this fashion!
