WTF are they doing with 600 phones?

Well we can all thank the New York Times for that one. Maybe they had investments in cell phone companies when the leaked the story about how our military was tracking phone calls between terrorists.

I really despise the New York Times. Why their editors and publisher are not in Guantanmo right now is simply beyond comprehension. I also despise our Justice Department for doing NOTHING about it. Spineless politically correct wimps.

These people are not one off terrorists, they are insurgents. They are collecting detonators in mass from Wal-Mart and returning them to the base in Dearborn. If we have just learned of 11 missing Egyptians I think the number of infiltrators must be pretty large. These folks are trained for sustained guerrilla actions against the US population, (i.e. Beslan type stuff)
Think about it, if the US military can't shut down the insurgency in Baghdad, how are the cops going to do here at home. It's going to be a hot summer folks. Lock and Load.

I bet you don't.

These guys seem to get around, though.

We've had quite a few arrests right here even without 'help' from our neighbors to the north.

FBI Investigates Cell Phone Purchase ($60,000 worth of prepaid cell phones)
NBC.com - Dallas/Fort Worth ^ | October 31, 2005 | NBC5

Posted on 11/04/2005 4:58:25 PM CST by LurkedLongEnough

DALLAS -- A Target store employee alerted Dallas police to a recent extraordinary cellular telephone equipment purchase. A man bought $60,000 worth of hard-to-trace prepaid cell phones.

The size of the purchase raised suspicions among police investigators, who turned over the case to the FBI.

"Those notifications are taken seriously," former FBI agent Danny Defenbaugh said. "Anytime a business or private citizen sees that type of activity, they need to go the extra step and notify law enforcement."

The large purchase caused investigators to look toward possible homeland security threats. On two occasions during October, a man of Middle Eastern descent bought $30,000 worth of prepaid cell phones. Security experts told NBC 5 that the FBI would work to identify the man and determine why he would buy the hard-to-trace phones.

Officials with the FBI and Target declined to comment on the case other than to say they were pleased that the clerk reported the purchase.

What's the deal with the liquids? I don't get it.

The plot the Brits busted involved nitroglycerin.

Had this happened yesterday would Lieberman have won the primary?

Any buyer's remorse Nutmegers???

These "students" don't look like "students" at all, they look like I imagine terrorist would look. Their facial expressions are almost all exactly alike and it's in a devious way. #11 looks like he's about to jump up and kill the person taking the picture.

Sorry, you are correct. I was thinking of the little town where the group of students were on flight TWA 800.

You are so right. This is scary stuff. I predict the terrorists will try their best to pull off an attack before the November elections.

Starting to sound like the terrorists are switching cell-phones after each call (impossible to trace then) and/or using a cell-phone as the detonator for the liquid nitro explosives.

Could a cell phone be used as a beacon for a plane?

I would think that sustained IED attacks on US Interstate Highways would be the plan. Very difficult to defend against. We have fought against this tactic for 3 years now and have developed nothing. The cell-detinators are only one component. The actual explosives are probably dispersed in Mosques.

From what I heard, there would be two or more boarding the plane with a different liquid. When onboard, they would mix the liquids, and they would combust, either spontaneously or via an electronic device.
