Per Fox News - Threat Level set to High/Orange
Update:
US Security Threat Level set to Severe (red) for flights to England, Orange (high) for domestic flights. The GENERAL level is still at heightened (yellow)
I hope I get on one of those flights this week for work...he better not announce his Allah-Akbar near me...
But not yet to ultraviolet.
Have my survival "Kit" almost finished. Still have to get my plastic sheeting and duct tape. No, I am NOT kidding. How in the world are we gonna cart that stuff around anyway? The handcart just won't hack it. ;)
Sounds like TSA finally realized that this madman in Tehran is serious about this Aug. 22 date.
Maybe noxious chemicals -- gas creating mixtures.
ORANGE TERROR ALERT!!
I'm guessing these explosives are only strong enough to blow a hole in the plane while at cruising altitude. Otherwise, why not wait until they land?
My sister just flew back to Seattle. Glad she left yesterday.
Three professors, if you can believe this one, worked on a project, I assume physics, and came up with a "formula":
Take a diet Coke (it only works with DIET COKE..they tried hundreds of other sodas).
Add Menthoes.
You will get an active water fountain in minutes.
Don't do this experinment inside. Use a 24 pack of diet coke and pack of Menthos and you'll have your own dancing water garden...music optional (use boombox, ipod or turn the house stereo speakers on loud).
Saw the article in the scientific portion on "how to" in the Wall Street Journal a couple of months ago. Suspect an experiment awry ala the silly putty invention.
Have fun - I'm surprised this hasn't been done on airplanes but with enough readers, the airlines may have to ban diet coke and check your pockets for menthos. Could be very effective diversion, actually.
Have you checked out the new homeland security forums?

Thanks, I did not know HS had one. It's good they have a forum, but no one is discussing anything...yet. ;)
They really need to have at least a skeleton crew in there overnighgt.
Staff a night correspondent. Hell, I would kill for that job. Get a couple producers in there and a few in the control room and a camera operator. They could manage without a floor operator etc.
The cost would be minimal, and even less when compared to how much they are losing in ratings since they can't do effective breaking news, especially overnight.
Tis an ill wind indeed that does not blow some good.
Sully777 posted the news item from Reuters earlier in the thread.
I wonder how long it will take Reuters to put up a faux photo of a plane with a hole in it.......
I seldom post on here, but I am so mad! People need to wake up to the fact that we are in very dangerous times. This PC crap must stop, and we must stop the cut-and-run democrats and the islamic terrorists! The democrats had better watch out what they ask for (cut and run) - their feelings won't be nearly as hurt as when they are getting their heads cut off!
Wow! I just showed it to my kids and they can't wait to try it. :)
FIXOR is a two-component explosive kit, based on a flammable liquid. It has been designed to replace the use of plastic explosives and block TNT as traditional demining and UXO explosive charges. Unlike ammonium nitrate based binary explosives and traditional explosives:
FIXOR can be transported around the world by any method, including commercial passenger aircraft. This makes FIXOR rapidly available to those Customers who require safe, secure, single-purpose, demolition explosives throughout the world.
FIXOR Explosive self-neutralizes after a period of time, becoming a non-explosive. This unique characteristic of FIXOR is very important to those Customers concerned with the proliferation of explosives-based terrorist devices.
FIXOR is in operational use in many landmine affected countries and has been proven effective at destroying a large variety of anti-personnel and anti-tank landmines as well as unexploded ordnance (UXO).
So banning liquids makes complete sense. Because this widely available commercial product is not the only kind of binary explosive.
PLX is another example.
Thanks. Eye opening.
