An Israeli soldier avoids dust as a military helicopter prepares to land on the Israel-Lebanon border August 9, 2006 to evacuate troops injured in fighting in southern Lebanon.
August 10, 2006 The United States Government is raising the nations threat level for the aviation sector to:
Code Red or Severe for flights originating in the United Kingdom bound for the United States
Code Orange or High for all commercial aviation operating in or destined for the United States.
The rest of the country remains at Code Yellow.
Currently, there is no indication of plotting within the United States. We believe the arrests of extremists engaged in a substantial plot to destroy multiple passenger aircraft flying from the United Kingdom to the United States have significantly disrupted the threat, but we cannot be sure that the threat has been entirely eliminated or the plot completely thwarted.

from the homeland security homepage:
Threat Level Raised for Aviation Sector
August 10, 2006 Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced a targeted raise in the threat level in light of todays arrests in the United Kingdom:
* Threat Level Raised to Code Red or Severe for flights originating in the United Kingdom bound for the United States.
* Threat Level Raised to Code Orange or High for all commercial aviation operating in or destined for the United States.
The adjustment to Red or Severe reflects the Critical, or highest, alert level that has been implemented in the United Kingdom. Further, as a precaution against any loose ends in the plot, and against any would-be copy-cats who may be inspired to conduct similar attacks, we will also raise the threat level to High, or Orange, for all domestic commercial aviation and for flights arriving in the United States from overseas. The rest of the country remains at Code Yellow or Elevated.
We believe that the arrests in Britain have significantly disrupted this threat. While there is currently no indication of any plotting within the United States, the federal government is taking immediate steps to increase security measures in the aviation sector. These measures will continue to assure that our aviation system remains safe and secure. Travelers should go about their plans confidently, while maintaining vigilance in their surroundings and exercising patience with screening and security officials."

It does seem frustrating. I guess it is the fog of war. As someone else may have pointed out, instant communication has changed everything. Everyone from the President to the person reading FreeRepublic.
It is very important that the people running this war need to know how to communicate in this instanteous world. They need to get the right message out to the people. They can't sit ideally by. They are going receive criticism and be asked a lot of questions. This is the type of environment it is now.
Peeps and circus peanuts are some of my favorites too. I haven't allowed myself circus peanuts in YEARS....I have had peeps at Easter time...but...they have to be stale before I'll eat them.
You have my empathies. I had my gall bladder out and I still make stones...low fat the rest of my life, and I still get pain from time to time...I get baker's chocolate for my chocolate fix. Less fat than candybars...scratches the chocolate itch well.
Tonight I ate something just a shade too fatty...I will be reaching for the antispasmodic before I go to bed.
