the fog of war my friend, the fog of war. I think i'm going to start watching the war on mute and not pay any attention to the tickers, i have never seen so many contradictory signals in my life, At this point it wouldn't surprise me if i was reading fallout maps on drudge tomorrow

"Bloomberg story was about the same time as the CNN story...talk about the fog of war!"

If this change for the better is the real deal, then the MSM does not have one bit of access to the US negotiating team.

That makes NO sense to me at all. I think something is up.
Reversing course in Lebanon makes alot of sense if you consider the possibility that recent events will force the USA to attack Iran sooner rather than later. Also something might be in the Beka Valley that could require a serious response from Israel. I do not think Israel wants to be in position of having to possibly nuke their own troops in Lebanon.

1. This isn't a ball game, where we can vilify the coach and root for our guys and grouse about poor execution of plays. It is war, which means life and death. We don't have the intelligence that the Israeli government has. What if it has been discovered that the Hezbollah had a plan to detonate a nuclear bomb where all of the troops were? What if they are going home to defend the country from an invasion from the south? Meanwhile we hear of impending air attacks. WE JUST DON'T KNOW.

2. In the spirit of not knowing, I suggest vilifying Omert and his government is not only non-productive, but counter-productive. Until the Israeli government falls, he is in charge. And since he is the elected leader of Israel, undermining him is just as bad for us to do as we felt about Chirac's actions towards President Bush.

3. God is in control. Prayers for Israel and for all of the people in that region would be the most effective thing we can do right now.

4. The nut case in Iran probably has planned something for Israel, and perhaps this withdrawal will allow better strategy to defend against it.

5. Finally, I want to again emphasize that we don't really know what's happening. WERE those troops marching back into Israel? Or is that just what was said? Slumped shoulders can simply mean exhaustion, not demoralization. I refer you folks to the many photos from WOrld War II.

Please, everyone, try to be optimistic and non-critical until we know the whole story.

Thanks!

Sad to say, it seems like Lebanon2000 all over again ...

Just as you posted, GRRRR placed a photo of the Shepster just before your post .... at least that worked out well.

I feel so bad and mad for the IDF soldiers; they were ready to strike hard and get the job done. This is completely UNREAL.

Unless... as GRRRR says, and I wish... it's a prelude to bombing, but I think not.

Words fail me.

They had an election not long ago, I think. Olmert's party won and he was the candidate for PM put forward by Sharon's party, something like the British system. It was only for awhile that as Deputy PM he was a stand-in for Sharon. I believe a no-confidence vote can be called under their system. Somebody else chime in on this...
