Can someone explain to me why it is always transporation with these wackos when it comes to the UK and the US ? (9/11, shoe bomber, other foiled plots, etc.) Wouldn't an attack on a shopping mall or a club be far simpler and cause just as much terror?
Once people are on transports, thy're a captive audience with no way to flee.
They used to try blowing up clubs, but too many people would survive that.
It's transportation-envy; in their countries the closest thing they have to an effective transportation system has fleas.

It doesn't strike as much fear into folks as a major crash or explosion like those we have seen on trains or buses .. the idea behind terrorism is to instill , well, terror.
altho clubs etc have also been targets,
the fact they very easily could if they wanted to is the most disturbing part. it hasn't been done at least in part because the enemy hasn't made it a priority.

Waking up in New York this morning and watching the local news, one would have no idea this was going on. The local stations are too busy talking about the weather and ice cooler...not one blurb about this as of the time I left to go to work at 6:10AM. Well, who cares...just because all those Egyptian students from JFK are nowhere to be found still...nothing to worry about!!! I hope they are watching the bridges, tunnels and subways in New York today!!!!
