Murtha is assailed for daring to speak out

John Murtha... is taking obscene criticism from the right for daring to point out that the Bush administration has given our troops an all-but-impossible job in Iraq.
The 17-term congressman had already inflamed the Swift Boat crowd last year by calling for a rapid withdrawal of U.S. forces.
The fallout reached a ridiculous low point last fall when a Republican congresswoman who'd never been within several time zones of a battlefield called Murtha, winner of two Purple Hearts, a coward on the House floor. [Coop note: Any bets as to how close any of these editors ever came to a battlefield?]
Now, incredibly, the partisan rhetoric is even more vile. Murtha is being called a traitor and a "fifth columnist" because he responded to reports of a possible massacre in Haditha, Iraq, by lamenting that Marines shot Iraqi civilians "in cold blood."
The descriptions of what happened in Haditha on Nov. 19, 2005, are among the ugliest to come out of the war. The Marines said initially that civilians were killed in crossfire with insurgents after a bomb killed a Marine. A military probe since then has amassed evidence that Marines may have deliberately shot and killed 24 civilians, including children, in a house-to-house search, and that attempts were made to cover up the incident. [Coop note: A military probe, which you're apparently so fond of, has already concluded there was no cover up. Get up to date... on a whole host of issues!]
Murtha's point was that such incidents are an inevitable result of leaving troops too long in the middle of an emerging civil war with no clear mission.
That's not the talk of a traitor... A country that can't handle that kind of debate is a country that can't handle democracy.

Try Cafe Press on the T-Shirt -- just a thought. I think you can upload just about any image and then have a T-Shirt printed with it.

And yet, most of us Veterans oppose this sniviling opportunist. Ever notice the left fails to address that fact? Oh yeah. I personally think it's because the media elites don't know any veterans... except for the Dem "war hero" politicians they constantly reference.

Has the editorial staff of the Enquirer ever done investigative research on Philly's huge voter turnout every year? Why? The Democrat always comes out ahead.

"...A country that can't handle that kind of debate is a country that can't handle democracy...."
Two points:
Point one:
1.We are not a democracy. We are a representative republic.
Point two:
Murtha was called into question for what he said. Murtha lied about, slandered, and libeled an honorable group of individuals. Individuals who have something he never had and never will have, honesty, deceny, and principles.
In Murtha's defense, he could not help saying what he said. Murtha is a Democrat. A Democrat can no more tell the truth than east can be west. Each time a Democrat opens their mouth lies, slander, libel, and obscenity spews uncontrolably out.

Oh so the liberals definition of "debate" is that you must agree with everything a liberal says.
To: Coop
What they're complianing about being done to Murtha is exactly what the left did to Lieberman. Of course, they won't mention the irony.

'Swiftboat' definition t-shirt: click on it to order it's sold by AmericanPatriotOnline
Here's a summary about this incredible website: Where does your money go?
The sale of bracelets, T-shirts, flags, POW/MIA literature and other veteran-related items is conducted by the U.S. Veteran Dispatch, a veterans newspaper written and produced for military veterans, their families and friends. Its mission is to continue raising public awareness of veteran affairs. The newspapers publisher is a veteran of U.S. Army Special Forces who served two combat tours in Vietnam.
Proceeds from the sales allow our small staff to actively conduct search on veterans issues; collect, store and update veteran biographies; lobby Congress for veteran support and the continued investigation of POW/MIAs; contribute funds toward rehab/receation for our wounded at Walter Reed Hospital, and frequently travel from its office in Eastern North Carolina to meet and lend moral support to the wounded and their families. The newspaper also strongly supports the National Alliance of POW/MIA Families.
Vietnamese and Montagnard people who have escaped persecution from the Vietnamese communist government and moved to the U.S. rely heavily on U.S. Veteran Dispatch for lobbying Congress and other groups. The newspaper constantly calls attention to the refugees plight and those of their family members who still have been unable to escape that beleaguered country. |
