A Palestinian militant fires toward Israeli troops during an arrest raid in the West Bank village of Qabatiyeh near Jenin, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006. Why?

The $64k question. I don't see that it helps the the other side here, so I don't know why. It doesn't make sense.

Here's a good look at what appears to be a newer AR-15 minus the pistol grip forestock in the photo:

The photographers assistant could be holding a reflective panel to get the light right.

It looks like there's no magazine in the rifle, and where the magazine should be doesn't match the color of the cowering teenager's blue shirt, nor the color of a magazine (black or silver).

But in that case, wouldn't all the subjects have that light in common?

Even if the photo is undoctored, it's obviously a staged event. If someone was shooting at Israeli's, the crowd wouldn't be cringing towards the shooter but rather would be anxiously looking towards the target.

Yeah, and it doesn't reconcile with the two kids partially obscured behind one-handed cringe-guy, and the shooter. Wouldn't make sense to argue it was the shooter's right sleeve of T-shirt.

"If you believe one part of the gun is more far forward (closer to the photographer) than another part of the gun, then you're seeing what I'm seeing."

Yep, the whole thing looks wrong.

I am no expert on this gun so what you say could well be the explanation of what I see. Actually the shirt portion in the gap does not appear to be blue which would support the conclusion that this is a fake.

Look at the civilian to the left of the shooter. There is a bright fringe of sunlight along the edge of his pants. Follow that line upwards to his belt. You can see just a bit of it again just below the shooter's arm.

Notice a second line of sunlight that starts just above the civilian's belt displaced to the left from the first line of sunlight. Funny that it starts so abruptly right where the guy's shirt and pants come together.

It looks like the shooter is standing partly in a shadow, otherwise, he would have more of that bright fringing on his head back and shoulder. But why is his skin so much brighter than the rest of the people?

I'm not concerned so much about the white line on the wrist area, in that its highlighting and consistent with illumination throughout the rest of the image. The black region immediately adjacent to that in no way that can be reasonably explained as being shooter's shoulder or hair of somebody in background.

Bingo. I did a search of this fauxtographer and he's up to his filthy neck with the terrorists. He specialty seems to be propaganda, (aka "action") photos. For instance, several years ago he stood there and took pictures while his friends shot an old man in the head for cooperating with Israel. Recently LGF had something on him. Photoshopped or not, this guy is nothing more than a terrorist POS.

If the camera had been higher resolution, it would've been easier to tell, for sure.

The shirt may have some printing on it which could explain the color/texture difference. Note the kid on the left. His shirt says "Paint World".

The individuals in this photo is a collage of different shots. the two boys along the wall belon together, the center guy and the shooter belong together, the guy in the blue shirt between the shooter and dark shirt is a different piece. the lighting and the textures do not match. the editor didn't even bother to "feather" out the lines...

I wonder if the "Paint World" kid shows up in any of this fauxtographer's work?

No he hasn't been pasted in. You can see from the sunlight hitting the bystanders heads, the gunman's head and forarm and gun barrel and stock, that the light source is the same.

Someone else also mentioned the focus of all involved; the person speaking of that is apparently not familiar with depth of field capabilities and settings of high end camera equipment.

I don't believe it's been "shopped". Staged perhaps, but not shopped.

Isn't it amazing that everyone was posistioned so that the no faces were blocked. In my family, that would take several minutes to arrange.
