To: A Citizen Reporter
I am glad you brought up that passage, because I think it is important.

I often ask people who won the Tet Offensive. I have found that a great many people my age think we lost it (as I did until about 10 years ago) and when I inform them of the facts, they are astounded.

How do we really know that anything we see is the truth? Unless I am seeing live video of an event as it happens, I am unsure about ANY of the reports. When one thinks of the poor local reporting of events (check the corrections section of any newspaper and the letters to the editor where people often complain) it seems that we are not really well-informed. We know a lot of stuff, but if all of the stuff is skewed and misrepresented, what do we really know?

I recently read a biography of Pope John Paul's life. I had the experience of asking myself, how did I lived through some of the political nightmare that was happening in Poland, without understanding it.

I think I'm beginning to understand.

Another thing from the article I meant to mention: Reuters claims that the time on the photo does not represent the time that the picture was taken????

What does it represent then? Their answers are nonsensical.
