GREENSBURG, Pa. -- A man from the Republic of Georgia is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison after he and another man from that country were found with 15 prepaid cell phones and $4,200 in cash, police said.
The Tribune-Review reported that Malkhaz Zakutashvili, 53, was held through the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Murrysville police said the federal agency told police not to hold the second man, Zurabi Maisuradze, 25.
Police said the men were questioned just before 8 p.m. Saturday because their van, which did not have a permanent registration plate, was stopped in a lane of traffic in the Franklin Plaza parking lot.
The men said they were immigrants, but each displayed Michigan driver's licenses, police said.
Zakutashvili told police he was in the country illegally, Tappe said. Maisuradze claimed to have a visa, but he said he had forgotten to bring it with him.
The prepaid cell phones, which the men had recently purchased in Monroeville and Murrysville, were found inside the van. Also in the van were a laptop computer and global-positioning software.
A bomb-sniffing dog found nothing suspicious in the van, which had no seats or wall paneling inside, police said.
The men said they were on the way to Philadelphia and had visited a local drug store to buy batteries, police said.
Just a couple of illegals with US drivers liceneses, cash, prepaid cellphones, a laptop and GPS stuff. Maybe they're just on holiday and doing a little GEOCACHING
Wonder if this might somehow be similar or linked to the missing 11 Egyptian students...

What better place to hide than the Socialist Republic of The Burgh?
Foreigner Found With Prepaids, Cash In Murrysville Is Held By Feds
The Z-man looks like a real charmer.

I'd have some questions for the DMV in Michigan...
" Murrysville police said the federal agency told police not to hold the second man, Zurabi Maisuradze, 25."
Well, at least he didn't say his dog ate his visa. But claiming that you forgot your visa is good enough for the Federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Let's just hope that they have a tail on him or some other good reason for letting him go.
One thing missing from the "news" article.
Their "religion".
My guess?
Mohammetans.
Count on it.

Police Pull Over Immigrants, Find Cash, Cellphones
Immigrants. Snort.
OK, now a foreignor with this stuff is suspicious. The other article never mentioned this.
Maybe I'm missing something, but what law did they break? An immigrant having money, GPS, phones, and cards? Maybe they had more of those than typical people, but is there a limit? After all, I could have $1,000,000 in cash at home - but if I were Bill Gates, the police would probably believe that it was my money.
(the following is sarcasm...)
As to their immigration status, since when did that ever matter? I'm most worried about the police - what right do they have to check status, much less detain anyone over it. Those police will probably be the only ones who end of in jail over this.
Since 9-11.
Sorry. I missd that. I need more caffeine :)

Good Question!
Considering the shared border between Georgia and Chechnya and the inability to control the passes because of the terrain, I'd say it looks very suspicious to have these men crop up.
Eleven lose Egyptians, if they are Egyptians, after all, the Georgians are "from" Michigan, The Iranian President's 8/22 statements and his statement that 50K+ suicide bombers are out there...things that make you go hmmmm...
Oh, and let's not forget our open borders policy and Hizbollah active in the US.
I could be wrong but IIRC there was a traffic violation...plates, registration and illegal parking. When the cops checked them out they found the immigration status and proceeded.

True about the parking, and I guess that if you have a lot of anything and cannot explain it well, you will get in trouble.
Point retracted.
Well, at least they'll be able to vote in the upcoming elections.......
shortly after 11 "Egyptian students" slip away?
