It is near impossible to fight a war where the locals are supporting(tacitly or not,you can't play both sides here) the terrorists who have been banished from the country by the UN. Put it all together and you have sheer chaos! It is impossible to tell good guys from bad guys.

If Israel had gone hard and fast into Lebanon four weeks ago, the war would already be over. And Israel's political position would be a lot stronger. So much precious time was wasted by Olmert and Peretz playing games along the border with the lives of Israeli soldiers. And their failure to advance Israel towards victory will result in their paying the price.

The locals need to learn that if they plan to remain in their homes,especially in Southern Lebanon, they have to take a definite side when it comes to supporting or not supporting the hezzies, you can't play both sides, it can get you killed.

Concurrent to a cabinet decision to expand IDF operations in Lebanon, the cabinet also decided to demand from Lebanon the immediate and unconditional release of the two kidnapped IDF soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev as one of Israel's conditions regarding any
ceasefire agreement arrived at by the UN Security Council.


Likewise, the cabinet decided to demand a cessation of terror operations in southern Lebanon directed at Israel, particular rocket attacks, and the implementation of UNSCR 1559, which includes deployment of the Lebanese armed forces in southern Lebanon, the deployment of a multinational forces on the border and an embargo on arms transfers to Hizbullah. MK Eitam: Cabinet came to brave and unavoidable decision





MK Effie Eitam (NU-NRP) expressed approbation for the cabinet's decision to expand operations in Lebanon, saying "the cabinet made a brave decision that was unavoidable given the continuing aggression of Hizbullah against Israeli towns."
