Lots of Dems voted for the war in Iraq, but are weak and got scared by the wingnut wing of the Dem party.

Because for them it was always a political calculation.

That Joe Lieberman is willing to stand up and give them the finger is great,

Except that's not what happened. Who did Lieberman support for president in 04? John Kerry. He didn't give anyone the finger until he was already kicked to the curb. That's not "standing up." It's being a sore loser, which is par for the course for Joe.

Well, if you want to celebrate the demise of a decent public servant like Joe Lieberman along with your Dummies, I guess that is your right. However, I don't see how the victory of the wingnut fringe of the Democrat party is a good thing. There's a chance that they could win it all, and that would seriously damage America and could lead to more civilian deaths at the hands of Bin Laden.. Frankly, I'm rooting for Joe Lieberman all the way; he's a good, principled man, who can disagree with his opponents on the issues without being disagreeable.

As for the 2000 election, it's my belief that Algore was the one that dragged it out to the very end considering who unhinged he's become since he lost the 2000 election. Lieberman was just the VP candidate (along with being very loyal) and went along for the ride.
