"I was at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville Saturday night and one of the singer/songwriters commented that he was glad that the Dixie Chicks recorded his song and released it long before they made the comments in England and before they went down the downward slope of their careers."
Not glad, just fortunate..

Fortunately, or unfortunately...however one chooses to look at it.....it ain't over till it's over.
Or in other words....the end of the book isn't written yet.

I'll bet my eye teeth that this little news piece was written by a PC young woman, probably pulling down less money than the girl behind the counter at Dunkin' Donuts. I can only hope that one day these stupid women realize that they are being used by their Leftie bosses.
What's in a name? Go to the News page here on FR, and just scroll down looking at the headline, the news agency, and the name of the writer. More and more, we are seeing women and Arab names, and this must be a part of any discussion on the duplicity of the MSM. If it is a touchy feely, liberal happyhead bunch of bull on the suffering of oppressed black people or the persecution of the caring and oh so tolerant homosexuals or the great successes to be found in our public schools, the chances are very good that it was written by one of these stupid, stupid women.
If it is a story about the evil that America has done to the world, the world's persecution of the poor and misunderstood Muslim terrorists, or the massive number of innocent children and babies killed by the U.S. and Israel, it is almost certain that it is either a Arab Muslim(man or woman) or a hyphen man, the kinds that has been trained to sit down on the potty.
Look at the names and the agencies. Know who is telling you these lies. The reason I say this, have always said this, is that Reuters just fired "freelancer" Adan Hajj. He's probably back at work today as Ali Walid Camelhump. They will lie and lie and lie, and all we can do is choke off the money. Do not support any of these people. You may not believe them, but Martin Savidge did the first report on the Today show this a.m. and I am quite sure that many idiot Americans believed him.

"I expected the Chicks would not sell well in the south, despite CMT and others promoting their music and their concerts."Me too.
However, last night on PBS here in Little Rock, they featured The Dixie Chicks In Concert (2002) as the main attraction for their fund raiser.
Students and Cheerleaders from Heber Springs High School manned the phones. I watched to see how many actually picked up their phones and put them back down quickly, as I suspected they got more than a few unwanted phone calls from outraged viewers. I am wondering how much money they made last night?
But then, I have heard that PBS leans toward the left.

Man o man did they blow it. They were hugely popular, young, with a great band name, and a promising career of pop country ahead of them, and they friggin blew it No, no. You didn't read the article. They're still selling MILLIONS (maybe that's "million" and a fraction?) of their new CD that went right to the top of the country charts upon its release and remained there for, well, at least a week.
And they're not canceling dates due to poor ticket sales. They're just redeploying to Canada to better accommodate the SURGE in demand.
This article is nothing but good news for the Ditzy Chix.

Well, they made a decision to be primarily identified for their politics instead of their music. There's a market for that, but it ain't the country market and it ain't as big as the country market either.

find it interesting that this poll in which people vote with their dollars, seems to get much different results than the media polls. Yep, funny how that works. ;^)
The only poll that really counts is the one taken on election day. And the Democrats try to make those not count if it doesn't go their way..!

When the album first came out, and it wasn't getting much air play, the speculation was that since
Sony has so much invested in the trio, that Sony was buying the album to drive up the numbers, publicity, etc.
Looking back, Sony could have just bought three copies of Ingraham's "Shut Up and Sing", hired
three tutors to read it to each of the chicks, and gotten a better result.
The Dixie Chicks are unrepentant, unapologetic, and down right obnoxious with their "comeback" tour.
The lyrics, the titles of the songs, and even the name of the tour haven't added to their image
of being appreciative to most of their now former fans.

Waiting for the obligatory "Natalie Maines is fat"... Natalie morphing into batboy... sometimes FReepers get a little out of hand on these threads. True, but Yet-Another-Dixie-Chicks-Thread gives us yet another opportunity to pick at the scab. Sort of like the obligatory daily We-Hate-Hillary-Thread(s). Not to mention dragging out all those silly graphics we worked so hard to make in the first place. I'm sure the Chix rehearse their songs -- and for all I know, Ms. Maines rehearses her political screeds. Well, Freepers like to rehearse their criticisms. Seems balanced to me.
