That would make sense, except this is a small indy film.

She isn't even getting well paid for this, and the movie, at best, isn't going to do big business.

This is a small time little indy flick, I can't see any logical or rational reason for having her portrayed as being brutally raped.

Maybe it's a good movie. I've seen many good movies that dealt with horrifying subjects.
