Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-life advocates who purchased a building that formerly housed a Wichita, Kansas abortion facility say they have employed chemicals normally used to investigate crime scenes and found the walls of the room where abortions were performed completely covered in unseen blood.
Members of Operation Rescue, a pro-life group that purchased the former Central Women's Services abortion business building, conducted blood trace tests.
The group decided to test various surfaces and walls inside the building, which has remain unchanged since the pro-life group purchased it in June. The abortion business occupied the facility for 23 years.
Using a substance called luminol, a reagent that brightly glows in the dark when it comes in contact with even minute traces of human blood, the pro-life advocates found the walls to be blood soaked.
The walls looked like there had been a chain saw massacre in there, said Cheryl Sullenger, one of three people to conduct the tests. We couldn't believe our eyes. We were absolutely shocked.
She said that blood and other bodily fluid "simply flies during an abortion and that stuff all soaks into the dry wall and gets tracked into the carpeting where it putrefies."
In a statement obtained by LifeNews.com, Sullenger said that would explain the foul smell that permeates the building.
"There is no way to get rid of it aside from major demolition. From what we observed, there can be no such thing as a safe, clean abortion clinic," she said.
Sullenger also said the smell and the results of the chemical tests were worse in a room where a massive garbage disposal was used to pack up the remains of an unborn child for disposal. The sink was used to wash the parts of the machines used to do abortions.
It was a shop of horrors, said Sullenger.
Last month, the group took members of the media in Wichita on a tour of the building.
Reporters from the Associated Press, WIBW-TV, and the Wichita Eagle newspaper were taken through each room of the former abortion center and shown the shoddy conditions, including out of code plumbing and utilities.
They all seemed to understand that this abortion mill needed to close, said Sullenger. Most of them seem genuinely shocked by what they saw.
However, in three articles written by reporters who attended the viewing, general references were made to the shoddy conditions inside but not of the very brief news reports described the problems at length or Governor Kathleen Sebelius' veto of bills that would provide for better inspections and regulation of abortion centers.
Kelly Simpson, former president of Central Women's Services, blamed the shoddy conditions on the moving of everything out of the building and indicated that none of the women going there for abortions every complained about its cleanliness.
The Central Women's Services abortion business will not likely reopen anywhere else and the rights to its name and web site were sold to George Tiller, who operates a late-term abortion business in Wichita.
Abortions were done twice a month at the time the abortion facility closed and Central was doing about 350 to 400 abortions each year.
The pro-life group has planned to do extensive renovations on the building and turn it into a memorial for unborn children who died there and a headquarters for the organization.
Looking into Luminol further (thank you Google) I find that simple household bleach can cause Luminol to glow just like it does with blood. If the clinic used bleach to clean the blood and gore from its premises (they were a slaughterhouse, don't forget) the Luminol may glow demonstrating the presence of blood and/or bleach.
The object is not to hurt the women, it is to kill the babies.
You all know that household bleach causes Lumisol to glow too right? So do other chemicals and metals. I mean, not knowing that would make you 'ignorant' of how Lumisol works so you all knew that. My bad.
I mean, the idea that the walls in a clinic would *possibly* be washed with something like *bleach* is so *remote*...
Nah, it must be blood, right?
--R. 'so *many* expert chemists on here, wow, who knew'
They must have a method, because they use this often at trials.
They would be picked to pieces if they couldn't prove it was blood.
Abortionists are generally sloppy people ~ odds are good they never used a mop.
I'm pro-life, but agree with you on this; sounds like a bad urban myth. I'm sure there'd be some traces but they make it sound like Chainsaw Massacre or Hostel or something.
I'm pro-life too. I am with you on this totally. I've given money to crisis pregnancy centers, done volunteer work for them, and marched in rallies. I vote a Pro-Life ticket too. It's just that, as you said, I tend to use my brain in most situations and when something doesn't ring true, well, I don't just latch onto it because it might support my beliefs or faith. Maybe there was blood on the walls and maybe the place wasn't clean, but the horrible bloodfest they make it sound like, well, um, I don't really believe that.
Luminol only indicates the probable presence of blood. Further testing and other crime scene analysis further demonstrates the presence of blood. Luminol is not used to determine if something is blood or not, it is used to determine if blood may be present.
The pro-life organization that bought the slaughterhouse should have provided images and such for further determination. I have no reason to doubt them, but the images of glowing blood stains would have gone a long way in driving the point of this story home.
The simplest way to tell bleach from blood would be in the pattern. Luminol would show blood in a spatter pattern for instance, while cleaning with bleach would be more of a solid swipe.
Scott Peterson's defense lawyers would have wanted you on the jury Fur Shur.
You are right, I think. Abortitoria are not held to anything near the standards of hospitals and clinics.
I think I posted to you accidentally. My post speaks for itself. I am pro-life but I don't believe the walls were blood soaked, primarily because MOST abortions are NOT the hideous partial birth abortions. I do consider it murder and carnage but not carnage on the walls.
Whether this story-(on the thread)--can be confirmed, I will try to find more information.
I agree.
Guenevere - thanks. I want to thank you just because you obviously love babies and so do I, but if we aren't intelligent, we will look like loons. When I make arguments or put forth information, I always want to have all my facts. If you get any more on this, I'd be interested in hearing back from you.
I happen to have a legal and medical background (no abortion experience though - no giving, having, or assisting - by the grace of God, may I add), and that's why I don't think this seems realistic.
Blessings.
I don't know what you are implying so if you wished to make a point, it didn't work.
While this may be true, there are a good number of clinics that do 2nd trimester abortions....and George Till in Wichita, does 2nd, 3rd, and has for years!
The procedure is on larger babies, and is more involved than the suction abortion.
So yes, there could be plenty of blood specks or more on the walls.
They could demolish the building and use the space for a children's playground.
"I'm not promoting abortion, just stating that the premise of bloodstained walls is hyperbolic BS."
Why? If they did the test and the results are what they say what else could it be?
Well you obviously know more about this than I do. There probably is some spatter, but I still don't think it's as bad as painted in the original article.
The point, of course, is not how much spatter there is, nor whether these places are clean or not. The point is these places should just not exist, and as long as they do, great evil is being done to women and children, even if the women think they are doing right.
I know that most women are pressured into abortions - by their family, their boyfriend/husband, or by their circumstances (e.g. it will ruin their career, their education, etc.) Until we change that, women will continue to seek them. There will always be the minority who use it as birth control or simply have no conscience, but I don't believe the vast majority are in this group.
My heart goes out to these women. The pressure is on and society has given further pressure by making it seem like it is just another "choice." This type of choice for a woman is terrible. I think many women wish they didn't have the "choice" really, and I'm talking about secular women.
