Looking into Luminol further (thank you Google) I find that simple household bleach can cause Luminol to glow just like it does with blood. If the clinic used bleach to clean the blood and gore from its premises (they were a slaughterhouse, don't forget) the Luminol may glow demonstrating the presence of blood and/or bleach.

Three women in my past have had abortions and not one of them was injured or hurt.

The object is not to hurt the women, it is to kill the babies.

You all know that household bleach causes Lumisol to glow too right? So do other chemicals and metals. I mean, not knowing that would make you 'ignorant' of how Lumisol works so you all knew that. My bad.

I mean, the idea that the walls in a clinic would *possibly* be washed with something like *bleach* is so *remote*...

Nah, it must be blood, right?

Then how can CSI folk tell the difference between the blood/bleach from Luminol??????

They must have a method, because they use this often at trials.

They would be picked to pieces if they couldn't prove it was blood.

Hmm ~ you don't believe that blood can splatter walls? Scott Peterson discovered that modern forensic science (which frequently uses the chemical named in this article) can not only show blood spatter all over the place, it can also determine that you tried to clean it up with a mop.

Abortionists are generally sloppy people ~ odds are good they never used a mop.

I'm pro-life, but agree with you on this; sounds like a bad urban myth. I'm sure there'd be some traces but they make it sound like Chainsaw Massacre or Hostel or something.

I'm pro-life too. I am with you on this totally. I've given money to crisis pregnancy centers, done volunteer work for them, and marched in rallies. I vote a Pro-Life ticket too. It's just that, as you said, I tend to use my brain in most situations and when something doesn't ring true, well, I don't just latch onto it because it might support my beliefs or faith. Maybe there was blood on the walls and maybe the place wasn't clean, but the horrible bloodfest they make it sound like, well, um, I don't really believe that.

Luminol only indicates the probable presence of blood. Further testing and other crime scene analysis further demonstrates the presence of blood. Luminol is not used to determine if something is blood or not, it is used to determine if blood may be present.

The pro-life organization that bought the slaughterhouse should have provided images and such for further determination. I have no reason to doubt them, but the images of glowing blood stains would have gone a long way in driving the point of this story home.

The simplest way to tell bleach from blood would be in the pattern. Luminol would show blood in a spatter pattern for instance, while cleaning with bleach would be more of a solid swipe.

You are right, I think. Abortitoria are not held to anything near the standards of hospitals and clinics.

I think I posted to you accidentally. My post speaks for itself. I am pro-life but I don't believe the walls were blood soaked, primarily because MOST abortions are NOT the hideous partial birth abortions. I do consider it murder and carnage but not carnage on the walls.

That's fine....I was speaking in general terms about abortuaries.

Whether this story-(on the thread)--can be confirmed, I will try to find more information.

Guenevere - thanks. I want to thank you just because you obviously love babies and so do I, but if we aren't intelligent, we will look like loons. When I make arguments or put forth information, I always want to have all my facts. If you get any more on this, I'd be interested in hearing back from you.

I happen to have a legal and medical background (no abortion experience though - no giving, having, or assisting - by the grace of God, may I add), and that's why I don't think this seems realistic.

Blessings.

I don't know what you are implying so if you wished to make a point, it didn't work.

Most abortions are not the hideous partial birth abortions

While this may be true, there are a good number of clinics that do 2nd trimester abortions....and George Till in Wichita, does 2nd, 3rd, and has for years!

The procedure is on larger babies, and is more involved than the suction abortion.

So yes, there could be plenty of blood specks or more on the walls.

They could demolish the building and use the space for a children's playground.

"I'm not promoting abortion, just stating that the premise of bloodstained walls is hyperbolic BS."

Why? If they did the test and the results are what they say what else could it be?

Well you obviously know more about this than I do. There probably is some spatter, but I still don't think it's as bad as painted in the original article.

The point, of course, is not how much spatter there is, nor whether these places are clean or not. The point is these places should just not exist, and as long as they do, great evil is being done to women and children, even if the women think they are doing right.

I know that most women are pressured into abortions - by their family, their boyfriend/husband, or by their circumstances (e.g. it will ruin their career, their education, etc.) Until we change that, women will continue to seek them. There will always be the minority who use it as birth control or simply have no conscience, but I don't believe the vast majority are in this group.

My heart goes out to these women. The pressure is on and society has given further pressure by making it seem like it is just another "choice." This type of choice for a woman is terrible. I think many women wish they didn't have the "choice" really, and I'm talking about secular women.
