Bush tells Cuban-Americans to cool down

United States President George W. Bush said Monday that it is the Cuban citizens living in the island who will decide the end of the "tyrannical situation".
Speaking with journalists at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, where he is spending a week-and-a-half vacation, Bush said that "our desire is for the Cuban people to be able to choose their own form of government".
"Once the people of Cuba decide the form of government, then Cuban-Americans can take an interest in that country and address the issues of property confiscation: but first things first. The Cuban people need to decide the future of their country" insisted Bush with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at his side.
Bush's remark on property confiscation refers to the fact that many Cuban exiles claim that their property was seized by the Castro regime when he took power in 1959.
President Bushs announcement follow on similar statements from Ms Rice on Sunday when she said the US was ready and willing to help the Cuban people in their struggle for change on the island but it is not planning to force that change.
The idea that the United States would invade Cuba is "far-fetched" Rice said in remarks to NBC's "Meet the Press."
She said that the talk of invasion had arisen in Cuba due to the political uncertainty sparked by President Fidel Castro's sudden emergency intestinal surgery prior to which he provisionally handed over power to his brother Raul.
"We are not going to do anything to stoke a sense of crisis or a sense of instability in Cuba" Rice emphasized.

Cuba's on the edge of freedom after 47 years and all Bush can say is 'cool down.'
I am underwhelmed.
This will go down in history as his Chicken Kiev Speech.

There is a personal, utopian, NWO agenda in play with Bush. He chooses his words very carefully when it comes to talking about "HIS FRIENDS". Especailly Mexico. And the agenda picture with the NWO crowd is much bigger than just Mexico.
It really sucks.

Castro may be assuming Arafat temperature as we speak. His brother is regarded as even more ruthless and is in control right now.
Bush is right to speak this way publicly. It's the iceburg under the water that does the damage.

Bush said that "our desire is for the Cuban people to be able to choose their own form of government". One set of rules for Iraq. Another set of rules for Cuba. Maybe they are learning from Iraq.

No one is blaming Bush FOR anything...just stating the FACTS about the NWO agenda of him and his family dynasty. Nothing new -- not a news flash. Think open borders, think CAFTA. And try and remember our soverignty.

Sounds like a complete misread of what he actually said....the headline is not a quote as far as I can see. Without the interpretation of the writer of this article it simply looks like there will be no Marines landing on the beaches of Cuba to reclaim land for the exiles. It would be best to avoid name calling and inflammatory rhetoric until there are a few more facts available. The "Chicken Kiev" comment is both ill informed and premature. Why does everybody rush to attribute the worst possible motive and intent to the President on the thinnest possible evidence?

I think all the Miami Cubans should take to their boats and head on over to retake Cuba.
Then English can be re-established as a language in Miami and the US can take its testicles out of the lockbox when it comes to foriegn and immigration policy.

All they have to do is get back in the water and the US coast guard will give them a free ride back.

Cuban Americans, as a group, are pretty darn productive and conservative... and they tend to be legal immigrants.
Whatever we've done with our testicles really isn't their fault.
