BEIRUT, Lebanon - The Lebanese government unanimously agreed Monday to send 15,000 soldiers to south Lebanon if Israeli troops withdraw, Information Minister Ghazi Aridi said.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese army called up reserve soldiers in a move linked to the possible deployment on the border if a cease-fire agreement is reach to end nearly four weeks of fighting between Hezbollah guerrillas and Israeli forces.

When the Israelis have called up more troops and are better trained, how does Lebanon expect to get the job done (Assuming that's their goal)?

When I read this headline, I thought the 15,000 troops were going to engage the Israeli's. What was I thinking?

Give them time, they still might. The key question is "which 15,000 troops?" And, oh, BTW, why wasn't this done in fulfillment of 1559, back before the Hezzies fortified their border positions?

These are either going to be in the way or they're going turn their guns on Israel and fight alongside Hizbollah. Either way, it's a VERY bad idea. Lebanon needs to keep them away from the area.

Over a 1/3 of the lebannese army are shiites who claim loyalty and support to Hezbollah.

Lebanon is no longer the victim of Hebollah. Now it is the accomplice no different than Syria and Iran. Israel can take action to destroy Lebanon since its chosen to aid terrorism.

Spoke to fast. We shall see what this means. But if they help Hezbollah, then the IDF can destroy them and all of Lebanon's potential to aid terrorism.

I heard General Scales on Fox say it is not a concern, because it will take their army 2 years to get there.

Put 15,000 thousand Hezzies on the border and just see what happens.

It means that they won't be dug in right on the border and will have to act like a regular army and not do the hit and run stuff.

The IDF will maul them!!!!!

If they're serious they'd send them all to Beruit and Bekka and South to destroy Hezbollah - without any conditions on Israel.

Choose Lebanon; your time is growing short.
