NEW YORK Four months after being released from an 82-day kidnapping ordeal in Iraq, Christian Science Monitor Reporter Jill Carroll will tell the story of her abduction and detention in an 11-part series set to run in the newspaper beginning Aug. 14.
"I would describe it as a comprehensive and compelling report on Jill's 82 days in captivity and the lessons learned by her," said Dave Cook, the Monitor's Washington, D.C. bureau chief who has acted as a spokesman for Carroll. "She has a phenomenal memory, it is a detail-rich story."
But don't look for the 28-year-old journalist to do the typical follow-up interviews on radio, television or in print that often proceed such high-profile ordeals. Carroll says the series will be her only offering of the story, at least for now.

I will apologize if I'm wrong...but where does it say anything about a movie deal?

"I don't want to be rich. I don't want to be famous. I just want to be a foreign correspondent," Carroll said in a statement to E&P Monday. Aren't "foreign correspondents" rich and famous? Quit lying to yourself and grow up, girl. Of course you want to be rich and famous.

I wonder what she'll call the final episode, "Cashing in", perhaps?

Well, that certainly explains why you have been so out of pocket the last 3-4 months. We have missed you.
Now, is it true that a deal was cut with McDonald's to put action figures from this mini-series into the Happy Meals?

Are the Muslims portrayed as murderous barbarians who put Jill's family through hell? No? Then it's a work of fiction that she made up.

A movie deal. Gee, big surprise - not. I'll bet this deal was made BEFORE she was even "kidnapped".

I'll bet this deal was made BEFORE she was even "kidnapped". Lets see, she wore a burka as a matter of course, spoke arabic, was/is a reporter. Quite a few of the earmarks for traitor/terrorist supporter in the making.
I don't believe her kidnapping was a kidnapping at all. I could be wrong, but..I'll not be reading interviews or watching any made for TV about her.

I seem to recall that her "kidnapping" was mostly faked. Will the series reveal all the details behind this fraud?

I'm sure she has a "detail rich" memory imagination. How convenient that she will only be telling her story via these easily controlled and edited stories. I wonder why she doesn't want to do interviews? I'm sure she's used to interrogation after her "harrowing" experience. BTW, didn't she also refuse to be debriefed, or am I thinking of someone else?

"She has a phenomenal memory, it is a detail-rich story." And who is going to dispute her version? It could be mostly fiction and no one would know the difference. Pretty good for a stringer.

"Carroll says the series will be her only offering of the story, at least for now." Ya right, and I also believe there were no WMD's in iraq. She's just biding her time. You'll see her mug on the cover of People magazine in no time, and the obligatory t.v. movie of the week. Who do you guys think will play her? I'm thinking maybe paris hilton could fill in pretty good.
