Mainly, why is the MSM participating in the cover up?I think a clue is in this excerpt:
"For some it almost becomes independent of reality and becomes very partisan." The WMD believers are heavily Republican, polls show.
The unspoken corollary is that the Democrats are holding the "no WMD" view. Their tone belies the MSM claim to political objectivity.

Do these same "experts" question that 36% of the American people believe the government aided/abetted the attack on 9/11?

The police announce that in 3 days they will raid a known drug haven. When they raid the house, they find no drugs. Authorities are perplexed why more than half of those polled think that drugs existed in that house. This is only a good analogy until you realize that WMDs WERE found.
Try this one:
The police announce that in 3 days they will raid a known drug haven. When they raid the house, they find drugs. Authorities are perplexed why more than half of those polled think that no drugs existed in that house.

I believe it because Clinton & Kerry told me Iraq had WMD's.

Not trying to break the rules about not posting AP stories AFAIK, posting AP stories is okay. Provided the periodical that published the AP story doesn't need to be excerpted.

Let me fix that headline:
Experts try to understand why half of U.S. and SADDAM AND HIS GENERALS (as caught on tape and in documents) believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

Americans aren't buying the Liberal line about the so-called WMD "myth" because of what happened to the Kurds in the later 1980s, as revealed in widely publicized images like these:
The bottom line: most American's aren't as stupid as liberals like to believe.
To: Virginia Ridgerunner
Precisely. The so-called "experts" simply aren't.

Let's see, why do I believe Iraq had such weapons? um...becuase they did. It has been documented.

Easy answer when you consider that over 60% of those that don't believe in WMD think that 911 was a conspiracy - Sanity.

They forget William Cohen and Maddie Albright was on every show they could get camera time in front of, and wild Bill Cohen was carrying around that 5 lb. sack of sugar claiming it represented the amount of anthrax that old Saddam had.
