VATICAN CITY, Vatican City (UPI) -- Vatican officials have suggested Madonna -- the U.S. pop singer, that is -- should be excommunicated for re-enacting the crucifixion in her new stage show.
Madonna is scheduled to bring her Confessions Tour to Rome this Sunday, complete with the scene in which she wears a crown of thorns and appears to be hung on a cross, The Telegraph reports.

Madonna is a whore in every sense of the word. She would gladly trade on religious icons for money.
She has been excommunicated. She admitted to abortions in the past, and if she hadn't completely renounced her faith at that point, she was automatically excommunicated for having those abortions.
This is the exact reason that Kennedy and other politicians haven't been excommunicated publicly. Spiritually, they have been out of the Church for years. A public display would only play to their wacko followers.
I find Madonna's shenanigans to be tiresome, boring, and hopelessly overdone. She think's she's being so cutting edge going to stage this silliness in Rome, thinks she's going to cock a snook in the Pope's face; serve her right if the concert hall's only half full and the response is a big So What?!

Yet the Vatican continues to turn a blind eye to the likes of kennedy and kerry.
I would suggest that if the Vatican wishes to be taken seriously with their excommunication threats that they start with the real problems, members of the clergy and powerful politicians who claim to be Roman Cathlolics, yet support homosexuality and abortion.
Silly me - I've heard that in some Latin America countries the crucifix actually has Mary on the cross instead of Jesus....ARGH! - I thought that was what this story was about.
