STRANDED SENATOR A DEAD MAN RUNNING (Lieberman gets more bad news on campaign trail)
NY POST ^ | August 7, 2006 | ANDREA PEYSER

Posted on 08/07/2006 3:52:21 AM PDT by Liz

Sen. Joe Lieberman stood in the parking lot of Mickey's Oceanic Grill chatting with exactly two people - one supporter and a stranger wearing a dirty tan raincoat with food speckling the left corner of his mouth.......the guy leaned in and asked Joe weirdly, "What color are your eyes?" Joe laughed - then rapidly got the hell away.....on the campaign trail Lieberman, after 18 years in the Senate, struggles to stay alive..... Democrats have abandoned him in droves because of his support for the war in Iraq.....

The cooling rain never arrives, and neither do the people. This forced the candidate to step inside Mickey's and try to persuade folks to look up from their lobster rolls. That's when this campaign stop started to resemble a wake.....people refused to look up.......

Things actually got worse up the road in Manchester.....campaign workers enthusiastically waving pro-Joe signs only seemed to make some commuters mad. .....a man fumed from his car. "How many more people have to die for oil?" And then, Lieberman melted down. "I didn't put my finger up in the wind to see which way it was blowing!"......He looked up, startled, as reporters took notes. "That was unplanned," he said apologetically. "That just came out of me."

That's it. I must have one.

I wonder where in Houston I can procure a lobster roll.

I am willing to wait until Friday, when I get off work at eleven. I can then drive to the shore, if need be.

What's a lobster roll, does anyone know?

There are few things better on earth, up to and including sex:

Why not surf the internet----there are any number of New England bread bakeries or suppliers, that might ship a couple pkg'es down your way, along with suppliers of Maine lobster. Here's the classic recipe. DO not deviate from it else you risk your life (grin):

Chill a pound of boiled Maine lobster cut in large chunks, 4 oz Best Foods mayo (New England-brand), s/p. Spread sides of 4 New England-style hot dog rolls with soft butter and lightly toast on grill. Divide salad onto toasted rolls, and serve.

Most anyone with half a brain knows that Con-neckticut has some of the most ignorant voters on the face of Gods green earth.

Our priest said last night in his sermon that those who believe that Hezbollah,Iran and radical Muslims are not out to harm American either do not understand what is going on or just plain silly and ignorant.

Yep. Jaw, jaw, jaw. But bottom line, vote Dem, vote babykilling, vote to clear Clinton.

I would venture to say Lieberman's been hearing from a lot of Connecticutians who are disgusted with his promotion of abortion-on-demand including p/b abortion, even as this phony jack*** co-opted pro-lifers, and made pro-life noises to get their votes.

LIEberman actually did win office w/ pro-life votes, running against pro-abort Weicker. LIEB then turned tail and embraced all forms of abortion.

However, his loss on the war issue should not be soft-pedalled, b/c this issue will resonate, and will hurt Hitlery, as well, alleluia.

"I doubt that throwing Lieberman overboard is going to go over well for the Dems among Jewish voters. Excellent point!"

Sigh. Hope springs eternal....

Does it make sense for Lieberman to run as a Republican?

LIEb better not dump his losing self, and his beloved partial abortions onto our party.

Besides, there is a plan to hijack the Republican Party and throw pro-lifers and the rest of the social conservatives off the Repub ship of state.

That plan involves running Rudy Giuliani----who is nothing but Lieberman with a lisp----and dried marinara sauce on his tie.

If you ever get up to Kennebunkport in Maine; there's a little place at the entrance to town that makes the best lobster rolls in New England, IMHO. Ambrosia on a bun.

soft-sided hot dog roll (of a style found only in New England) filled to overflowing with lobster meat chunks mixed with mayo.

Connecticut, which if navigational memory serves me, is on the same body of water as the Bronx and Queens, can no longer be considered part of New England. They wear pink shirts, green pants, tassels on their shoes and the whole gdamlotofem cannot come up with a Republican candidate to take advantage of this Democrat Lieberman meltdown. Instead, I am being treated to post AFTER POST ABOUT WHAT A GREAT GUY THIS LEFT WING FINKO-RAMA IS!

Never mind him, Who we got? Dodd and Lieberman, One rolling on the floor with Ted Kennedy and a waitress, while dating Bianca Jagger, the other trying to steal a kiss offa George Bush ... and we can't beat'em? Jesus wept.

As far as their idea of a lobster roll? Hold the lobster. In Connecticut, I would wager the pansies make it with just a hint of Taiwanese flaked and formed pollock soaked in mayo lite, mushed into a Mets stadium surplus bun, side of yesterday's coleslaw. If these Connecticut Jackasses can't even figure out what an Indian is supposed to look like, why would you trust them to make you a lobster roll?

I have trouble believing all this gunk in the media about Joe. Fred Barnes and Juan Williams on The Beltway Boys yesterday both agreed that even if Joe does not make it in the Demo primary, he could go Independent and has a real good chance of winning the race. I don't really understand the politics of that state but Fred and Juan seem to think that this is really possible.

Oh, please----keep in mind it's not what LIEB says----it's what he does. Here's a few reminders about the actions of the self-styled "Conscience of the Senate."

EXHIBIT ONE: Lieberman's biggest scam was getting into the Senate on the backs of the unborn. This craven individual, Lieberman, ruthlessly used the unborn to get into office. As a 1988 Senate candidate, Lieberman made many, many pro-life pledges to Connecticut Catholic leaders as Atty General running for pro-abort Sen Weicker's seat. Based on a Lieberman poll indicating pro-life votes were there for the taking, Lieberman courted Catholics, and made pro-life promises that he had no intention of keeping. Lieberman got into the Senate----with pro-life votes. Once in office, Lieberman turned tail and became an unwavering abortion rights supporter, voting consistently pro-abortion, and even voting to uphold partial-birth abortion on six separate occasions. <

EXHIBIT TWO: Lieberman and ex-Reagan Edu Secy Bill Bennett would give out "Silver Sewer Awards" to express opposition to Hollywood's salacious, sexually explicit and violent music, TV and movie output. Then when Lieberman became Gore's running mate, he went to Hollywood on bended knee, in obeisance to the moguls, promising to strengthen Hollywood's ultra-liberal control over America, in exchange for votes and campaign financing.

EXHIBIT THREE: Lieberman's a dedicated gun-grabber - as his voting record clearly shows.

EXHIBIT FOUR: Lieberman famously went on and on during impeachment hearings about Bill Clinton's sexual conduct, but refused to cast his vote against Clinton when it counted.

EXHIBIT FIVE: Lawmakers With Relatives on Payroll By The Associated Press Wednesday, April 13, 2005 ----Connecticut Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman: Son Matthew received about $34,000 and daughter Rebecca about $36,000 for working on the senator's 2004 presidential campaign.

EXHIBIT SIX: Lieberman was so "supportive" of the US military that he was willing to become vice-president by NOT counting Florida's military vote. The man is not fit to have anything to do with the US military.

Such is the constituent animosity towards this faker, that LIEB has already intimated he will drop out of politics after this race. He knows he can't win, even for dog-catcher.

EXCERPT Senator: Lieberman would abandon run if he stumbles in primary By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer Published: Friday, August 4, 2006

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Democratic senator said Friday that if Sen. Joe Lieberman loses his primary Tuesday by a significant margin, he expects the Connecticut lawmaker to abandon plans to run as an independent. Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, who just days ago campaigned with Lieberman, said a decisive win by anti-war challenger Ned Lamont would probably drive Lieberman off the ballot in the November general election.

In more troubling news for Lieberman, Lautenberg also said he would back the Democratic nominee who emerges from the primary, a view shared by several senators. Lieberman has come under fire from Democrats who criticize his support for the war and perceived closeness to President Bush.

The three-term senator and 2000 vice presidential
nominee has said he would run as an independent if he loses the primary. "I frankly believe that if there is a significant margin of victory, if Mr. Lamont wins, I find it hard to believe that Joe Lieberman would challenge that, but it's his decision. I am going to support the Democratic candidate," Lautenberg said in an interview
with National Public Radio.

Asked what sort of margin he would consider significant, the New Jersey senator answered: "I think if oh, let's say 20 percent of the people, or 10 percent of the people in the Democratic Party, and they're signed up as Democrats, don't want to give him a vote, I think he really has to take a look at what reality is." "I also think that the prospect of a loss, another loss would be very, very unpleasant to imagine," Lautenberg said, adding that Lieberman has not told him what he would do.

Only because he didn't have time to. He would have if he could have.

He called for Rummy's resignation last week.

Live by the sound-bite, Joe, die by the sound-bite. He abandoned babies for his VP run.

Hope Hillary has massive indigestion over this too.

Nope - it's the Clam Shack on Route 9, right at the end of the bridge that connects Kennebunk to Kennebunkport.
