My suspicion is that a Gay Pride festival would be safe (safety in numbers and probably strong police / security present) - but people coming out of bars known to be frequented by gay people - or in the gay areas of town who look to be gay - would be targets for sure.

Kinda makes you wonder what will happen in some of those European countries who are liberal when it comes to Immigration policy and sexual morality when the percentage of the Muslim population increases enough...

Well, I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I'd take the side of the gay Iraqi's over Shia death squads every day of the week. At least the gays probably don't want to kill me. For the Shia religious goons, it ain't just the homosexuals on the death list - we infidels aren't far behind.

No I don't. As a matter of fact, I think all funding for AIDS should be terminated...and let it play out. Doing so might instill a sense of urgency within the gay community to change their uncommon habits. I have no tolerance for that type of behavior.

Ali Hili runs the Iraqi LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) group out of London. He used to have 40 volunteers in Iraq but says after recent raids by militia in Najaf, Karbala and Basra he has lost contact with half of them. They move to different safe houses to protect their identities, but their work is incredibly dangerous.

I would say incredibly dangerous is an understatement, if AIDS don't get them bullets do.

Did you know that the US government spends 30 times the amount per AIDS fatality researching a cure as it does for almost any other ailment common among Americans (heart disease, cancer, etc)...

...just food for thought for those of you who think that homosexual behaviors and agendas don't affect you. One of your loved ones may be dead today because of missed opportunities due to the diversion of research dollars into this narrow niche.

More justification and enabling of heinous behavior by backward arabs. While I'm not debating the accuracy of the article you referenced, in fact I think it's probably very true, I am rejecting the backward mindset and culture that condones and enables such behavior.

Islam is a lie and a disease. It is a cult that thrives and lives only by repression and deception. Muslim cycle of violence will never end until they are forced to acknowlege how they contribute to their own problems and do something about it.

And the west is in no hurry to help them in that enlightenment, of course. (rolling eyes)
