Ah, you are answering part of my question. About an hour ago I heard a democrat on Fox say that Newt had called Condi "Neville Chamberlain." If that is true, I am willing to go to Iowa and personally campaign against him.

Chaffee is the perfect candidate to do the same. Jump to the dems. He's voted against every single republican initiative, often being the only republican to join the dems on a vote.

the WOT won't be won without regime change in Iran

Agreed whole heartedly!

But now-a-days in our new(Dem/rat inspired) environment of milquetoast, PC inspired wars how do you get an army of CIA types working in unison with Iranian locals big enough or well funded enough to get that job done? And without upsetting the world wide oil distribution system which is so key to the economic survival of the world yet located in the area.

Newt is afraid that Dr. Rice will be the republican presidential candidate.

What a disgusting opportunist. I have never had any respect for him at all and his recent praise of her heinous only reinforced my already low opinion of Newt.

I smell George Soros at work here.

Me, too, FRiend. Continue to smell him (Ack! ugh!), 'cause he's not done. I suspect he's going to buy a lot of oil and gas in October, in an effort to raise prices and hurt the Republicans....

If traditional Democrats believe that the Party has been disloyal to Lieberman and Lieberman loses to the rich kid, a lot of traditional Dems just mignt stay home during the general election if Lieberman doesn't run as an Indy.

It's never very crowded in my little town's polling place. They have paper and pen ballots that, once filled out, you feed into a machine. They always have a lot of machines. The only hold up is the old folks that check your name. They have trouble hearing in the large, noisy Nation Guard (Territorial Army) hall we vote in. I just hand them my license and point to where my name is on the list.

Bush's "axis of evil" characterization was a start on a par with RR's "evil empire." Overtly, we need a Congressional resolution calling for regime change in Iran. We should also appropriate money to Iranian groups outside the country who favor regime change. Covertly, we should supply the money and other material support to opposition groups within Iran. We should do whatever is necessary to destablize the regime short of attacking and invading Iran.

The best possible outcome for us is a new revolution in Iran arising from the people. We need to distance ourselves from that process so that the new government has some legitimacy and not be seen as puppets of the US.

The worst thing we can do is make deals with the current government, which only strengthens them. Personally, I don't like the carrots that the US and EU are offering the regime to stop their enrichment of uranium. I hope the offer falls through and we apply sanctions against Iran even outside the UN framework.

I have been mad at him since he started the handwringing and criticism of President Bush over Katrina. You are right, he is disgusting. Pfui.

Maybe, but there are other federal, state, and local elections being held. Lieberman is not the only one running or not running.

I totally agree with you Kabar!<p.
I don't really know however how much of this can be accomplished in the light of day. The Dem/rats will try and stop any attempt we make to democratize Iran or most any other country simply because it's not them doing it. They want credit for everything we do. I think this whole thing needs to be covert.

Hi Starwise. Just one thing to add. While Diana Irey is the leader in funds right now at Rightroots, her campaign was not the catalyst for this effort. Rather, the rabid leftists had success raising about a third of a million bucks on a site called Netroots (I believe), so the conservative blogosphere followed suit with this effort.

You assume wrong

No YOU do. Notice none of the Taliban or Al Qeda bigs stuck around to achieve martyr status???? The facts DO not support the doom and gloom prophesying..

Condi just told Timmy it was important not to misquote Gen. Abazaid or to take him out of context.

I cheered when she did that.  It was almost as if "Tim, you ignorant slut" preceeded that statement.

Talk about a smack down!

"We need to abuse them..."

Oh yeah! I am all for Mullah abuse. :-)

That is the real threat and possible miscalculation

Yep that is the real threat. That some one there will get cutsey. They need to be made painfully aware that that is not a line they can cross.

Jonathon Hunt, the English accented Fox reporter was just on, giving his usual anti-Israeli slant to his report. He added this little bit of mangled prose

"Israeli jets are on the march..."

The image of F16s lined up four abreast with a band in front on the road into Lebanon is just a bit silly.

It sounds like something Sheperd would say.

Nora Ephron was married to Carl Bernstein and wrote the book "Heartburn" based on the experience (ordeal). Ouch.
She did some nice screenplays: Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, etc.

I suspect she mouths all the Leftist platitudes she picks up at cocktail parties so that she gets invited back (Rush's theory).
