Governor, in N.H., Weighs In on Iraq (NM-Richardson)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | August 5, 2006 | Michael Coleman

Posted on 08/05/2006 8:15:49 PM PDT by CedarDave

KEENE, N.H.— Gov. Bill Richardson, winding up a two-day trip to New Hampshire on Friday, told fellow Democrats that a Middle East summit could help ease tensions in Iraq.

The former United Nations ambassador said at a fundraiser here that the Bush administration should ask other Muslim countries to help allay the sectarian violence.

"We need to have a political solution because there is no military solution," ... "I would convene a Middle East peace conference that would bring nations from the Muslim worlds— Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, the European countries— and say we're changing policy."

Richardson outlined his domestic and foreign policy experience and said America should rethink its decision to "go it alone" in Iraq.

"We could say (to Muslim countries), 'We're changing policy— we kept you out of Iraq, we wanted to go it alone, we wanted to invade alone and now we need you back,' ''

He said the move could also lead to diplomatic progress with Iran, which is threatening to build nuclear weapons. "I think Iran, which doesn't want instability on their border with Iraq, might take the right move and accept a dialogue with America," Richardson said.

"Nothing is certain, but all I can tell you is that I can't remember a time— and I've been around awhile— where foreign policy was so perilous and America's influence was so low."

Several people attending the fundraiser said they were impressed with Richardson's grasp of foreign policy, and others said they liked his call for a "man on the moon" type of commitment to developing new sources of clean fuels.

But others said Richardson has a lot of work to do to boost his relatively low profile if he hopes to compete in the 2008 primary here.

"Go it alone?" Phooey. I guess Richardson doesn't remember the UN votes starting back in the Clinton years and continuing until just before the invasion telling Iraq to comply with WMD inspectors and so on and so forth. And yes we had a coalition.

And the RAT solution to all world problems -- talk, talk, talk. Oh, and maybe occasionally bomb a baby milk factory.

So Richardson has joined the Surrender Now Democrats desperately trying to find some way to snatch defeat out of the mouth of victory on Iraq. Another example of why it just not safe to vote for any Democrat anymore.

I guess you could sell this simplistic nonsense at the Special Olympics. If you pay attention, they are involved. It took a lot of twisting but Saudia and Iran ponied up the money to pay the Gaza workers. Arabs are sending boatloads of relief to Lebanon. Jordan is training Iraqi police. They have their meetings, but I guess bill richardson is too dumb to relize they don't want some fat American leading them.

All Muslim countries have sectarian violence -- from Nigeria in Africa to Indonesia and the Philippines in Asia. When a religion is not tolerant of any but its own and vows Jihad on others, it can not be used as an example "for peace."

And, BTW, King Bill is a Thanksgiving turkey, born shortly before turkey day.

Speaking of photos, here is the photo in his Wikipedia entry beside one taken at NM State University more recently.

Maybe too many green-chile enchiladas and sopapillas with honey?

"I think Iran, which doesn't want instability on their border with Iraq, might take the right move and accept a dialogue with America," Richardson said.

Huh? "We are quite confident that the Iranians, through their special operations forces, are providing weapons, IED technology, and training to Shia extremist groups in Iraq, the training being conducted in Iran and in some cases probably in Lebanon through their surrogates...[the Iranians] are using surrogates to conduct terrorist operations in Iraq, both against us and against the Iraqi people." - General George Casey, Washington Post, June 23rd.

So he thinks a conference with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco (all Sunni, who hate Iran) will get them to make nice to Iran and then Iran will make nice to us?

Obviously speaking to the moonbat types who believe that the US is the source of all problems in the world and if we only spoke nicey-nicey to the global crackpots like Iran and North Korea, everything would be fine and we could all sing Kumbaya*.

Anyone know what flag that is behind Richardson (on our right). Certainly not the New Mexican or Mexican flags.

Democrats use the terms "go it alone" or "unilateral" to mean "without the French Republic," which pioneered Western surrender to the Islamofascists in 1962 after almost achieving a rare military victory in Algeria. The French politicians of yesteryear, much like the Democratic politicians of then and now, objected strenuously to the notion of defeating the enemies of free civilized society, whether Communist or Islamofascist.

America now can use the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen against the Islamofascists, if only the Congressional politicians allow it. Because the defeat-o-crats prevailed in 1962, compelling the French Republic to surrender in a war that they actually won, France now embodies the spirit of surrender to both communism and Islamofascism. Like the American Democrats, the French yearn for malaise, melancholy, and misery, espousing an agenda of secularism, sedition, socialism, and surrender. The Islamofascists have established themselves in France following their 1962 surrender, and very soon will unleash a demographic takeover of that Republic.

America today faces a very stark choice: do we continue on the road to certain victory should we pursue it relentlessly, or do we elect Democrats, embrace misery, and surrender?

Governor Richardson caught the same [primarily mental] disease as the esteemed ex-vice-president His Excellency Albert Gore, Jr.--liberalism that putrefied after the Supreme Court nullified his negative-five hundred thirty-seven-vote victory over Texas Governor George Walker Bush in 2000.
