Part three in a three-part series.
Islamists fear any real ideological battle within Islam against Islamism and its clerics. To that end, they seek the removal of American and Western involvement from Muslim majority countries. Americanism is founded upon an anti-theocratic ideology that is a global ideological threat to Islamism. "Jeffersonian" Muslims who depart from Islamism are similarly the greatest threat to the influence of Islamists within the Muslim community.
Disengage Islamism from Muslims and Americanism will flourish among Muslims. With the deconstruction of Islamism (the ends), Islamist terror (the means) has no cause.
Muslim activists should find it commonplace to address the central ideological issue of this war —Islamism vs. Islam vs. anti-Islamism. Islamist moderation, vis-a-vis anti-terrorism and anti-autocracy, should not dismiss the remaining overriding Islamist philosophy. This philosophy is what needs to be understood.
The issue is not one of patriotism. Islamists can be intensely patriotic while having a differing vision for America. It is the ideology of political Islam that needs to be engaged. The following questions may begin to help opinion leaders discern an Islamist from an anti-Islamist: Do you believe in the strict separation of religion and politics? Do you support the development of religious (Islamic) political parties and movements? Should the imam's "mimbar" (pulpit) be the place for the advocacy of domestic and foreign policy opinions? Should clerics be politicians or legislators?

This article is flawed.
It assumes there exists a thread of moderation in Islam to which western nations can appeal to. There is none, or if it does exist, it is represented by a very small segment of Muslims.
The article is correct in that America and the principles upon which it and many democracies were founded: social and religious pluralism, freedom of conscience, the dignity and worth of the individual, equality of sexes, the rule of law, restraints upon governmental power, a non-theological state, etc, is antithetical to Islamism. Its also antithetical to Mohammad, the Koran and the basic tenets which all practising Muslims follow.
Unless a significant segment of the Muslim population is willing to recreate, restructure and redirect Islam, there is no room for both ideologies in the same world.
Hezbollah and the Ayatollahs and Wahhabists understand this very well. Unfortunately our politicians, wedded to a flawed philosophy of total inclusiveness and moral equivalency, do not.
Right now, either Islam shall triumph in tis present form and the world will be throw back into the dark ages, or Islam will be recognized for the monstrous ideology it is and destroyed.

3. Any concessions granted to them(islamofascists terrorists) is never enough for them! They always start their demands for whatever it is they want with bloody acts of terrorism. They never ask first, they commit their bloody acts of terrorism then make their demands.
4. Hold out an olive branch of peace to them and they cut your head off! islamofascists terrorists are medeival barbaristic butchers, sick animals that are sub-human, they have no respect for life other than their own and not much of that either! As they are willing to commit suicide, infantacide, patracide to achieve their terrorism.

Let us recognize it for the monstrous ideology that it is and destroy it. Islam is a cancer on human society and should be destroyed because of it. There is no way that Western Civilization and Islam can co-exist.
President Bush, whether he realizes it or not, has set us on the correct course and we need to follow that course to its bloody end.

Exactly. The fact that there are no "moderate" Muslims who speak out against terrorism speaks volumes. On the rare occasions where a Christian has snapped and bombed, say, an abortion clinic, the Christian world has universally condemned the attack as intrinsically immoral and unnaceptable. On the frequent occasions where a Muslim turns himself into a walking anti-personnel warhead and murders as many civilians as possible, there is no such condemnation.

"Moderate" Islam can result in nothing but cognitive dissonance. The reason it has failed to take hold over the past 1400 years is that to be moderate is to directly contradict the explicit commands contained in the Koran. The only way to "save" allegedly moderate Muslims is not to separate them from Islamism but to separate them from Islam period.

I think it comes from their "business culture". They get elected by pandering to the most pressure groups, and so they think they can seduce the Muslims like they seduce other voting blocks in their countires.
They're wrong. We know it but they don't.
Bomb. Iranian. Nuclear program. Now.
If we don't do this, the future belongs to radical Islam, not civilization.
Ahmadinejad is an end-of-times zealot that will use them on the Sunnis once he is done with the Jews. And the Great Satan won't be far behind.
