The gif makes it easy to see how the building and smoke is simply copied in the background....
The pic on the left is older (July 26, 2006) implying the buildings you see in the Reuters photo never existed (and hence were artifically added)

In addition to all of the great remarks on this thread, it should be noted that the "fake smoke" is dark black. Dark black smoke is generally found with hydrocarbon fires. If you look at most legitimate photographs of explosions in the city of concrete, one would expect plumes of smoke the color of......yes....concrete.....light grey. That is what the posted legitimate photo showed. These Reuters hotdogs are too clever. What a bunch of putzes.
And by doing such and not following up, you get a nice hole in the lower part of the smoke.
