Dixie Chicks cancel Fargodome concert

FARGO, N.D. - The Dixie Chicks have canceled their Aug. 26 Fargodome concert, a move their promoter attributed to the need to promote a fall documentary.

A statement Friday said the Fargo show and other concerts in August and September were canceled so the band could promote the documentary "Dixie Chicks: Shut up and Sing," for the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Most of the canceled shows were rescheduled for later in the year. The Fargo concert, however along with appearances in Des Moines, Glendale, Ariz., Knoxville, Tenn., Greensboro, N.C. and Houston disappeared from the updated schedule altogether. Instead, the band added new locations, including Las Vegas, Atlanta and Fresno, Calif.

The band's press release attributed venue changes to attempts to "accommodate demand," and said more dates might be added next year.

The Chicks play Minneapolis Aug. 18 and Winnipeg Aug. 19 and 20.

Another tour date among many cancelled. And the Beatles' Revolver album, which was released 40 years ago today, is selling for a higher price than the Dixie Chunks' last album.

Nice of them to name their documentary after Laura Ingraham's book. Idiots. Ay-yuh.

Translation: "the tour is tanking and we need some breathing room."

The Dixie Chunks either need a marketing miracle or George Soros and friends to buy up huge blocks of tickets to hand out for free at DemonRat fundraiser events.

I am ashamed that they keep useing the word "Dixie" in their name. They DO NOT represent the geographic region that is Dixie!

Anyone have any suggestions on a new name?

She said "I know what it's like to be dead.
I know what it is to be sad"

And she's making me feel like I've never been born.

I said "Who put all those things in your head?
Things that make me feel that I'm mad
And you're making me feel like I've never been born."

She said "You don't understand what I said"

I said "No, no, no, you're wrong
When I was a boy everything was right
Everything was right"

I said "Even though you know what you know
I know that I'm ready to leave
'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been born."

Was telling a neighbor about posts here mentioning that a percentage of the Dixie Chicks poor album sales were leftists buying it just to support them but not even listening to it. He said he can can confirm one copy. His mother, a liberal retired educator bought their CD almost the day it came out. She said she bought it just to support the DCs.
It's sitting on her piano unopened and he assures me it will probably stay that way.

Ditzy Stinks should just move out of the country since they're so ashamed of being connected to the US and the prez.

How'd they do in Berkeley? Ithaca? Maybe Hollywood would like to star them in a musical.

Sergeant Pepper and the White album were great, but Revolver and Rubber Soul were the best.
