---I have to ask the question: what positive end is achieved by bombing the Maronite (Catholic) areas of Lebanon? These are not pro-hizb'allah militants that are being bombed.---
They are impressing on the Lebanese government and the Lebanese people the reality of their situation. If they think they can sit in the north and cheer on Hizbollah while sucking on the world aid tit they are sadly mistaken.

Northern Lebanon is where the Christian minority (Maronite Catholic) lives. I seriously doubt that they're sitting around cheering on hizb'allah.
