From the flyer it does seem that he wants to project that he's pro-gun and pro-carry. But if he's pro-AWB, for registration on bullets and a ban on gun sales for people 21and younger, then that doesn't sound very Pro-Gun to me.

That will sure make a difference in who I support this election for Governor...I like him much better than Crist....

You should really consider get training and gun ownership...I equate both for those who have not had much experience...In this day and time the threats may not come form just those you mentioned...Crime is on the rise expecially in our area and neither my wife nor myself leave home not being able to defend outselves...My wife almost learned the hard way....Getting training in no way takes away from your right to own a firearm...It just makes good common sense to train and practice as often as you can....It also builds confidence when you need it....

That comment I made to you yesterday was directed at the campaign flier in the main post. I just saw and read the questionnaire you posted in link #60.
That eases my mind a bit about Gallagher and his thoughts on the AWB and other things.
His campaign flier does use some low ball political tricks like cutting up quotes. But I guess I can let that slide a bit if he stays true to his stance on bring pro-gun and anit-AWB.
Here's what I'm talking about in his campaign flier.
The flier says this.:
Tom Gallagher is the only gubernatorial candidate supporting the HB-129, which allows for Lawful Ownership, Possession, and Use of Firearms and Other Weapons" Tom Gallagher sent word that he would sign the bill if he were governor now. Charlie Crist said he
would not decide...(The St.
Petersburg Times, 10/23/05)
The article on the other hand says this:
Tom Gallagher sent word that he would sign the bill if he were governor now. Charlie Crist said he supports gun rights but would not decide before seeing the bill "in its final form after the legislative process."
Gallaghers campaign cutting out "in its final form after the legislative process" making it seem like Crist wasn't or would not sign the bill. Would you really fault someone for wanting to see the final draft of a bill before committing to signing it?
I last quote seems to come from a
St. pete times blog dated 12-20-05 and says
The last time he ran for governor, Tom Gallagher called for registration of all gun sales and wanted to require a ballistics ""fingerprint'' so bullets fired can be traced to guns.
But that was 1994, and it seems the NRA isn't holding such old views against him.
"They're both good on the issue,'' Marion Hammer, the Florida NRA's lobbyist said recently of Republican gubernatorial candidates. "(Tom) Gallagher's voting record from past legislative history is clearly not as solid on our issue as (Charlie) Crist's voting record. However, people do learn.''
Looks like Gallaghers campaign again selectively cut out part of the quote, Theyre both, to make it look like Marion Hammer was just talking about Gallagher.

Your assessment is exactly correct. I spoke with Marion Hammer on the phone yesterday and she specifically mentioned this bit of editing.

Gallagher's chief Brett Dozier is an experienced republican campaign strategist. Crist's chief comes from a long line of developers.
The Gallagher Camp is probably on automatic pilot when it comes to references to Charlie Crist in some cases.
It's crunch time and whoever did the edit, I doubt it was Brett Dozier. Brett is a Jeb Bush strategist. He chose Gallagher over Crist.
Crist got Karen Unger from Jeb's camp. I used to email w/her all the time. Not any more. Jebbie's peeps are torn between the two camps.
