Culture Club The Eels
This is a highlight of two groups that really have nothing to do with each other, but here they are together!
Ghetto Heismann (Rap/Hip Hop) All About The Bass (Rap/Hip Hop)
These two selections are not suitable for kids! For anyone that has been at a red light and felt the earth moving because the car beside you was booming louder than is probably legal, you might want to avoid the second jukebox! For everyone else, flip the woofers!
The Beastie Boys (Old School Rap) Missy Elliott
These two selections aren't suitable for kids or Ma!
Fighting Men Of Crossmaglen (Celtic) The Real McKenzies (Celtic Rock)
Two different types of Celtic music, but both very entertaining!! Enjoy!
Toss The Feather (Celtic) Celtic Playlist (Various Artists)
These two selections are a highlight of the Irish spirit. If you have a chance, listen to Toss The Feather's "Intoxicated Leprechaun". It's suitable for children and isn't nearly as bad as it could be. Darn! Hehe! The Celtic Playlist offers you a wide variety of artists. One of MoJo's favorites is Lasairfhíona Ní Chonaola. Enjoy!
Fred & The Healers (Da Blues) Walkin' Cane Mark (Da Blues)
Some Blues music for you to enjoy! If you like Tommy Castro and Tab Benoit, you'll enjoy these two selections!! For more of Da Blues, please find acad1228.
Swamp Mama Johnson (Da Blues) Watermelon Slim (Da Blues)
If you've never heard of either of these artists, you've been missing out!! Enjoy the music and remember to look for acad1228 for your Da Dose Of Da Blues!

If you are a fan of Smash Mouth, you might enjoy Five Iron Frenzy. If you like Mercy Me, you may find yourself liking Everman. Enjoy!!
Great Country Duets Rockin Country
Here's two compilation jukeboxes of great country music!! Enjoy!!
Funk Compilation 1 Funk Compilation 2
For all you Funk music fans out there, this is for you! Enjoy!

Theme Section: Two For One
*These are all jukeboxes below.
When we began this section, it wasn't intended to go in the direction it went. We weren't necessarily going to make this celebration of world genres, but here we are. Enjoy it!

Dirty Dozen Brass Band Gumbo

If you love the New Orleans sound of Jazz, Blues, and Dixieland, you will enjoy both of these bands.

Calypso Music Jamaican Mento Music
A musical education and journey of sorts in these two selections. Calypso is the musical sound traced to Trinidad (via the African slaves) and probably recognizable to most people. As you can see, Mento music is rooted in Jamaica. In simplistic terms, Mento music is Jamaica's folk music. Since Mento music is rarely heard these days, when someone hears it...they can understandably confuse it with Calypso. It isn't. For anyone that can't stomach today's reggae music, try the Mento music jukebox. You'll be glad you did.
Americana American Roots
Americana and American Roots could both be coined 'folk music'. However, one truly is folk music (of varying genres) and the other is America's musical history from the beginning. Americana is 'folk music' while American Roots is that musical history. Enjoy!
Boogaloo Music Mambo
Boogaloo was popular in 1960s New York City thanks in part to Cuban and Puerto Rican youths. There is a dance also called Boogaloo, but you'll have to travel to Latin America to get your Boogaloo fix these days. Mambo is vital and important to the popularity of Boogaloo because many of it's beats and styles were used in Boogaloo music. You may also notice that Mambo music is a bit faster paced than most of the Boogaloo selections.
Jamoo Soca Music
This section could only be possible because of one man, Lord Shorty. Lord Shorty, invented both styles of music. In response to a few folks that tend to believe that Soca music is Brasilian, it is evident that we need an education. Soca music is from Trinidad and was created by a Calypso musician named Lord Shorty. After he converted to Christianity, Jamoo music was born. Jamoo music is the mixture of Reggae/Soca/Gospel music!  The Jamoo jukebox selection is from a group called Christafari. This group happens to feature Lord Shorty's daughter, Avian.
Fado Music Music Of Portugal
Fado music originated in Portugal and could best be defined as 'mellow' music. Highlighting other musical talents of Portugal brings us to the second jukebox. The varying styles and similarities with Brasilian music can be heard as well. P.S. There are a few songs with those annoying instruments known as BAGPIPES in the second jukebox. God help us all!
Zydeco Cajun
Good, upbeat music! What more could you want?
Music from the Coffee Lands Music from the Chocolate Lands
The rest of you enjoy your musical time in the Coffee Lands jukebox. MoJo will be busy enjoying the Chocolate Lands music!
Flamenco Rumba Swahili Rumba (African)
If you are a fan of Rumba music and dance, then this is your section. MoJo is more partial to the Swahili Rumba, but both are extremely good.
Klezmer & Hassidic Music Yiddish
Jewish music for the enjoyment of all!
South Pacific Islands Island Music From Around The World
Enjoy the music of the Islands from around the world!

Section Theme: Let's Sample--Shall We?
*Many of our Veterans and current Active Duty can relate to this music section. You take music that was popular *back in the day* and sample it with a current song and you've got a hit. The Canteen--doing what we can to close the musical gap between generations--except for Ma. She's generationally unaware! Um, keep in mind that some of these songs only take a riff or perhaps sample more than just the song we're using as an example.

Run With Horses

If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? —Jeremiah 12:5

In the Olympic Games, the greatest runners of the world compete for gold medals and laurel wreaths. Long before the final race, competitions are held in countries throughout the world to weed out those who are not fast enough to compete. At the Games, the fastest of the fast qualify for the final competition.

The prophet Jeremiah was also involved in a fierce competition—but it was with idolaters and wicked priests. He was responding to the Lord’s call to condemn Judah and to predict her downfall. He became so discouraged that he asked the Lord, “Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are [they] happy?” (12:1).

That’s when God said to Jeremiah, in essence, “The competition has just begun. So far you’ve been dealing with minor issues (running with footmen). How will you handle it when the really tough stuff comes (contending with horses)?”

Perhaps you’ve run into some difficulties recently: your boss, an illness, conflicts in your church. You’ve pleaded with the Lord for relief. But He may have said in response, “Toughen up. Dig in. It may get worse.” When He asks you to “run with horses,” He will be with you to strengthen and sustain you. That’s what God does. David C. Egner

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.  —Flint

Greetings Freeper Canteeners it's Fridat night so that must mean it's time for the Friday Flyby.

We continue with the tour of the USAF "Century" fighters tonight with a look at the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger. The Dagger was an outgrowth of the experimental XF-92 delta wing fighter that Convait had built for the USAF in the late 1940s. The experience gained from the XF-92 led to Convair getting the contract for the F-102. The F-102 was supposed to be an interceptor armed with 4 Falcon guided air to air missles as well as a number of 2.75 Folding Fin Aerial Rockets.

The first flight of the F-102 was in October of 1953 but was lost in an accident a few days later. The second prototype flew in January of 1954. Perfomance for the F-102 was pretty bad and the program was in doubt until the Convair design team adopted the "area-ruled fuselage" that had been designed by NACA scientist Richard Whitcomb. This resulted in the fuselage being lenghtened about 11 feet and giving the fuselage the distinctive "Coke Bottle" shape.

With the adoption of the "area-ruled fuselage" the redesignated F-102A easily exceeded the speed of sound wirh a speed of Mach1.22 and an altitude of over 52,000 feet. The F-102A went into squadron service with the Air Defence Command in May of 1956 and served in the USAF and ANG roles until the mid 70s. The F-102A wasn't quite finished though as a number of the jets were converted to QF-102A staus to be used a target drones. The Greek and Turkish air forces also operated the F-102A.

On with the Pics

This is as close as I have for the mandatory head on shot :-)

Hera an F-102A in artic colors taking off

A overhead view of the Dagger showing the delta wing to fine advantage.

A pair of Oregon F-102As showing off for the camera

A fine underside view of a F-102A from the Texas ANG

Hmmmm, I wonder if this guy was flying the plane in the previous pic???

And yes that is the President in his ANG days in the last pic!!!

That's it for tonight folks, y'all have a great weekend

Regards
